TL;DR: The role and importance of the machine vision systems in the industrial applications, which include the area of automated visual inspection, process control, parts identification, and important role in the robotic guidance and control, are described.
Abstract: In this paper, the role and importance of the machine vision systems in the industrial applications are described. First understanding of the vision in terms of a universal concept is explained. System design methodology is discussed and a generic machine vision model is reported. Such a machine includes systems and sub-systems, which of course depend on the type of applications and required tasks. In general, expected functions from a vision machine are the exploitation and imposition of the environmental constraint of a scene, the capturing of the images, analysis of those captured images, recognition of certain objects and features within each image, and the initiation of subsequent actions in order to accept or reject the corresponding objects. After a vision system performs all these stages, the task in hand is almost completed. Here, the sequence and proper functioning of each system and sub-systems in terms of high-quality images is explained. In operation, there is a scene with some constraint, first step for the machine is the image acquisition, pre-processing of image, segmentation, feature extraction, classification, inspection, and finally actuation, which is an interaction with the scene under study. At the end of this report, industrial image vision applications are explained in detail. Such applications include the area of automated visual inspection (AVI), process control, parts identification, and important role in the robotic guidance and control. Vision developments in manufacturing that can result in improvements in the reliability, in the product quality, and enabling technology for a new production process are presented. The key points in design and applications of a machine vision system are also presented. Such considerations can be generally classified into the six different categories such as the scene constraints, image acquisition, image pre-processing, image processing, machine vision justification, and finally the systematic considerations. Each aspect of such processes is described here and the proper condition for an optimal design is reported.

TL;DR: EUS is an accurate method for detection of insulinoma and the accuracy depends on the location of the tumor and is greatest for tumors in the pancreatic head, while there was no relationship between c-peptide, lowest blood glucose, insulin blood levels and tumor size in surgery.
Abstract: Endoscopic ultrasonography has been accepted as a sensitive modality for preoperative tumor localization in pancreas. We have aimed to determine the performance characteristics of endoscopic ultrasonography in pancreatic insulinoma localization and evaluation of relationship between the tumor size and serum-c peptide level, lowest glucose level and insulin level. Patients suspicious to insulinoma according to clinical and laboratory findings were included. Endoscopic ultrasonography was performed and if a tumor was identified, the patient was referred for surgery. A total of 52 patients (24 male and 28 female) with mean age of 42.4 years underwent EUS and 43 patients underwent surgery. In one patient, a tumor was identified both by transabdominal ultrasonography and abdominal CT scan. The overall sensitivity and accuracy of endoscopic ultrasonography for detection of insulinoma was 89.5% and 83.7% respectively. The sensitivity of endoscopic ultrasonography for detection of lesions in pancreatic head, body and tail was 92.6%, 78.9%, and 40.0%, respectively. There was no relationship between c-peptide, lowest blood glucose, insulin blood levels and tumor size in surgery. EUS is an accurate method for detection of insulinoma. The accuracy depends on the location of the tumor and is greatest for tumors in the pancreatic head.

Abstract: In this paper we introduce some types of filters in a BL algebra A, and we state and prove some theorems which determine the relationship between these notions and other filters of a BL algebra, and by some examples we show that these notions are different. Also we consider some relations between these filters and quotient algebras that are constructed via these filters.

TL;DR: One of the swarm intelligent branches, named particle swarm optimization (PSO) with some modification in it is applied to the training of all parameters of ANFIS structure and is compared with basic PSO and showed quite satisfactory results.
Abstract: This paper introduces a new approach for training the adaptive network based fuzzy inference system (ANFIS). The previous works emphasized on gradient base method or least square (LS) based method. In this study we apply one of the swarm intelligent branches, named particle swarm optimization (PSO) with some modification in it to the training of all parameters of ANFIS structure. These modifications are inspired by natural evolutions. Finally the method is applied to the identification of nonlinear dynamical system and is compared with basic PSO and showed quite satisfactory results.

TL;DR: In this article, the lake water requirement with an ecological approach was calculated with three variables: ecology, water quality, and water quantity indices as environmental indicators, and the aggregation of these variables showed that Lake Urmia requires annually 3086 MCM of inflow water to have a sustainable ecosystem.
Abstract: Lake Urmia is a thalassohaline ecosystem. It is an extremely simple ecological pyramid. This makes it a very sensitive ecosystem. This ecosystem has been facing various threats regarding the amount of water released from the associated basin. To calculate the lake water requirement with an ecological approach, we identified three variables: ecology, water quality, and water quantity indices as environmental indicators. The ecological index represented by Artemia urmiana is considered as an independent variable; while, the water quality index represented by concentration of NaCl, and the water quantity index represented by water elevation are regarded as dependent variables. The salinity threshold of 240 ppt (parts per thousand) is selected as the water quality requirement for Artemia urmiana. Finally, the aggregation of these variables shows that Lake Urmia requires annually 3086 MCM of inflow water to have a sustainable ecosystem.

TL;DR: After 6 months, pulpotomy with MTA was associated with fewer cases of root resorption and post-treatment disease, and appears to be a reliable alternative material for pulpotsomy in primary molar teeth.
Abstract: Aim To compare the outcome after 6 months of the application of formocresol (FC) or mineral trioxide aggregate (MTA) during pulpotomy in primary molar teeth. Methodology A maximum of 126 children (aged 5–9 years) with carious primary teeth that required pulpotomy were selected. Following randomization, a standard pulpotomy preparation was undertaken, and the coronal pulp removed and bleeding arrested. In the FC group, cotton balls, soaked in FC, were placed for 5 min, and then the pulp chamber was filled with Zonalin, a pulpotomy agent. In the MTA group, a 1-mm-thick paste of MTA was used as a pulpotomy agent. The crowns in both groups were restored with amalgam or glass ionomer. The teeth of 100 patients were evaluated and compared clinically and radiographically after 3 and 6 months. Results No signs of clinical failure were observed at the 3- and 6-month follow-up appointments in either group. There were no significant differences in the radiographic findings of the teeth and surrounding tissue at the 3-month follow-up. However, at the 6-month follow-up, significantly more cases (P = 0.036) with root resorption were seen in the FC group; no cases of resorption occurred amongst the MTA cases. The surrounding tissue showed radiographic signs of post-treatment disease in four FC cases; none was seen in the MTA cases. Conclusion After 6 months, pulpotomy with MTA was associated with fewer cases of root resorption and post-treatment disease. MTA appears to be a reliable alternative material for pulpotomy in primary molar teeth.
