Abstract: A mobile terminal and a method for controlling the operation of the mobile terminal are provided. In the method, a stereoscopic 3D image that utilizes binocular disparity between a left-eye image and a right-eye image is displayed on a display and a stereoscopic 3D pointer is displayed in the stereoscopic 3D image when a user's hand is detected according to analysis of visual data acquired by a camera. The position of the stereoscopic 3D pointer is moved according to movement of the hand when the movement of the hand is detected according to analysis of the visual data. According to this method, the operation of the mobile terminal can be controlled by the user's hand movement or gesture.

Abstract: A method of transmitting a precoding matrix in a multi-input, multi-output (MIMO) system is disclosed. In the system, a receiving end determines feedback information by calculating each diagonal sub-matrix of the precoding matrix. Here, the precoding matrix includes a plurality of sub-matrices arranged in a block diagonal format. Thereafter, the receiving end transmits he feedback information of the each calculated sub-matrix.

Abstract: A system and method for managing communication in an integrated services network ensures that media information is displayed on at least one of two terminals during a call without using any transmission bandwidth. This is achieved by having at least one of the terminals pre-store the media information in a memory and then controlling the terminal to recall and display this information when certain events occur during the call. The media information may include animated information, images, and short-time video scripts. This information and broader band media such as streaming video may be displayed on the same terminal. The display of media information may also be controlled based on the past knowledge and experience callers have about one another and/or their communications equipment.

Abstract: An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method of receiving a downlink signal through an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) by a terminal in a wireless communication system and includes: receiving a demodulation reference signal from a set of EPDCCH physical resource blocks (EPDCCH PRBs); and attempting to demodulate the EPDCCH by the set of EPDCCH PRBs with reference to the demodulation reference signal, wherein when a transmission mode set for the terminal is a preset transmission mode, the terminal assumes that a cell-specific reference signal of a serving cell is QCL (Quasi Co-Located) with the demodulation reference signal.

Abstract: A user preference information structure having a multiple hierarchical structure in which an information is provided to a user according to a user preference in a multi-media environment consisting of an information provider and an information user, comprising user use information by using information desired by the user; user preference information of information desired by the user; and individual user preference information that is differently set depending on situations in which the user is put and positioned in a sub-tree of the user preference information. The hierarchical data structure is able to provide the user preference for providing information desired by the user is provided depending on the environment, based on which various information can be provided. The hierarchical data structure constructing the user preference makes it possible for the user to receive information fitting the situation in which he or she is put by using a proper individual user preference information, automatically or according to user's selection.
