TL;DR: In this article, the authors describe the development state of motor skills by examining the achievement probabilities of the skills concerning fundamental movement-control and gymnastics that can be evaluated qualitatively.
Abstract: The purpose of this study was to describe the development state of motor skills by examining the achievement probabilities of the skills concerning fundamental movement-control and gymnastics that can be evaluated qualitatively. The subjects were 5,637 males and 5,064 females in elementary, junior high, and high schools. A questionnaire survey was conducted on 31 items concerning fundamental movement-control skills and gymnastic skills. The achievement probabilities and development stages of respective motor skills were reviewed by studying the obtained data. It has been found out that many of children's motor skills develop significantly while they are in elementary school. Almost all the children learn some of the fundamental movement control skills in lower grades. However, there are some among items of floor exercise and vaulting box almost all the children cannot perform, although the subject are included in the curriculum to be taught. Children need longer period of time to obtain the skill for those assignments that require strength and speed, and accordingly longer instruction period is desirable. Many of the assignments are taught after the development stage, which suggests needs for appropriate instruction periods suitable for development stages.

TL;DR: The percentage of overweight subjects was higher in the group that did not consume a wide variety of foods, and intake of energy, calcium, zinc, magnesium, vitamins B1, B2 and C were insufficient in the subjects.
Abstract: Purpose – Developed countries have devised guidelines for various eating habits, many of which simply recommend “eating various foods” without specifying how much food the individual should consume each day. The authors aimed to examine the relationship between the variety of food consumed and the probability of nutritional adequacy in middle‐aged Japanese.Design/methodology/approach – In total, 215 subjects (102 men and 113 women) provided complete dietary records for seven days in each of the winter, spring, summer and autumn. Subjects were categorized into groups of five according to the amount of each food eaten per day, calculated energy, and nutrients in the food. Results were compared with respective indicators of nutrition defined by the Dietary Reference Intakes for Japanese (2010).Findings – The percentage of overweight subjects was higher in the group that did not consume a wide variety of foods. Intake of energy, calcium, zinc, magnesium, vitamins B1, B2 and C were insufficient in the subjects...

TL;DR: In this paper, the life-time of cellulose is predicted by using the Ozawa-Wall-Flynn method using thermogravimetry at various heating rates in air and nitrogen flowing atmosphere.
Abstract: The life-time of cellulose is predicted by using the Ozawa-Wall-Flynn method. Mass decrease of cellulose powder and cotton fabric was investigated by thermogravimetry at various heating rates in air and nitrogen flowing atmosphere. The relationship between life-time of cotton, holding temperature and mass decrease are obtained. The life-time of 10 % mass decrease varied from several hundred years to several seconds in a temperature ranging from room temperature to 573 K. The effect of atmosphere was apparent in a high temperature range

TL;DR: This presentation presents a probabilistic procedure to evaluate the relationship between HDL and LDL, and its applications in food safety and cholesterol levels.
