TL;DR: The present results suggest that DA differ from the other types of intraosseous ameloblastomas but more studies are necessary to better understand the role of this protein as a marker in the biological behavior of the epithelial odontogenic neoplasms.
Abstract: The aims of the present study were to examine whether the pattern of syndecan-1 expression correlates with cellular proliferation index in desmoplastic ameloblastomas (DA), peripheral ameloblastomas (PA) and ameloblastic carcinomas (AC), and to compare with that previously reported for solid (SA) and unicystic (UA) variants of ameloblastoma. Immunohistochemistry was performed for syndecan-1 and Ki-67 in seven ameloblastomas (four DA and three PA) and three AC. Expression of syndecan-1 was related to the histological subtype of tumors and, in the case of malignancy, to lower expression levels observed in AC (22.5%) than in PA (47.5%) or DA (77.5%) (P < 0.05). Syndecan-1 expression correlated inversely with Ki-67 proliferative index: the expression was lower in both types of ameloblastomas (1.5% in DA and 6.4% in PA) than in AC (41.2%; P < 0.05). The present results suggest that the decrease in syndecan-1 expression and increase in the Ki-67 index observed in AC is in accordance with its higher aggressiveness as compared to the rare DA and PA. Interestingly, DA had a lower proliferation index as well as the highest levels of syndecan-1 expression. These data suggest that DA differ from the other types of intraosseous ameloblastomas but more studies are necessary to better understand the role of this protein as a marker in the biological behavior of the epithelial odontogenic neoplasms.

TL;DR: Menopause does not increase the risk of type II diabetes mellitus and diabetes is associated with early menopause in women under 45 years of age, and diabetes did not increaseThe risk of deterioration of quality of life due to climacteric symptoms.
Abstract: Background Type II diabetes mellitus causes metabolic changes that may lead to early menopause and worsen climacteric symptoms. Objectives To determine the risk factors for type II diabetes mellitus and assess the impact of this disease on the age of menopause and on climacteric symptoms. Methods A total of 6079 women aged between 40 and 59 years from 11 Latin American countries were requested to answer the Menopause Rating Scale and Goldberg Anxiety-Depression Scale. Results The prevalence of diabetes was 6.7%. Diabetes mellitus was associated with arterial hypertension (odds ratio (OR) 4.49; 95% confidence interval (CI) 3.47–5.31), the use of psychotropic drugs (OR 1.54; 95% CI 1.22–1.94), hormonal therapy (OR 1.46; 95% CI 1.11–1.92), ≥ 50 years of age (OR 1.48; 95% CI 1.17–1.86), overweight or obese (OR 1.47; 95% CI 1.15–1.89), and waist circumference ≥ 88 cm (OR 1.32; 95% CI 1.06–1.65). Factors associated with lower risk of diabetes were the use of hormonal contraceptives (OR 0.55; 95% CI 0.35–0....

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors discuss different proposals for the degree of polarization of quantum fields and compare alternative quantum degrees and put forth that they order various states differently, which is to be expected, since, despite being rooted in the Stokes operators, each of these measures only captures certain characteristics.

TL;DR: Anastomosis group (AG) identity ofRhizoctonia solani isolates collected from potato plants growing near Leon, Guanajuato, in central Mexico was determined and it was determined that AG-4 was found only during the flowering stage of plant growth, whereas AG-3 was present on plants at every stage of development.
Abstract: Anastomosis group (AG) identity ofRhizoctonia solani isolates collected from potato plants growing near Leon, Guanajuato, in central Mexico was determined. In samples from 15 fields, we found AG-3 and AG-4 with a frequency of 73.5% and 26.5% respectively. AG-4 was found only during the flowering stage of plant growth, whereas AG-3 was present on plants at every stage of development. The efficacy againstR. solani, in vitro andin situ, of certain biocontrol agents (Bacillus subtilis, Gliocladium virens) and fungicides (Pencycuron, Tolcoflos-methyl, Fluazinam, Azoxystrobin) was assessed. CertainBacillus strains collected from the field inhibitedin vitro growth of isolates of certain AGs. Only Pencycuron and Tolcoflos-methyl inhibited AG-3 100%in vitro, whereas in the field, Azoxystrobin and Pencycuron showed the highest efficacy against development of sclerotia on tubers.

TL;DR: Although four MSG administrations were used, the most relevant findings were observed after the first and second administrations at PD1 and PD3, suggesting that only two MSG injections could be sufficient to resemble a seizure and/or excitotoxic model.
