TL;DR: In this article, the authors tested a sequence of eight corporate ownership networks on the sample of 178 largest financial and non-financial Slovenian companies and found that the resulting network is not natural and is therefore changing rapidly.
Abstract: Corporate ownership networks have a long tradition in developed economies, they are however new to transitional economies like Slovenia, where these networks developed only recently as a result of institutional changes. The resulting network is not natural and is therefore changing rapidly. Techniques like the stochastic actor-oriented models give us an insight into the factors that influence the rate and the direction of the changes in the network. We tested a sequence of eighth corporate ownership networks on the sample of 178 largest financial and non-financial Slovenian companies.

Abstract: In the paper one of the techniques used in human resource management annual interview as an important part of authentic leadership is discussed Authentic leadership is the most important matter at the present moment in leadership development and emphasizes the leader’s authenticity For a leader to be authentic we believe he should have an in depth knowledge of people he is working with and that can be achieved through communication One of the standardized forms of communication between a leader and his coworkers are annual interviews In the research where 565 people participated we found out that annual interview is an important part of human resource management and is closely related to authentic leadership The relation is especially relevant in the part of managing and collaborating with colleagues and subordinates

TL;DR: In this article, the authors apply a range of metrics to test for the presence of weak form market efficiency in the Eastern European countries that joined the EU in 2004, and test both the years prior to and following accession.
Abstract: This paper applies a range of metrics to test for the presence of weak form market efficiency in the Eastern European countries that joined the EU in 2004, we test both the years prior to and following accession. The results from our tests indicate that, despite the expectations of many previous studies, even after entering the EU the stock markets of these countries still do not conform to even the loosest form of market efficiency. We improve and extend previous studies by incorporating liquidity controls, applying a wider range of methodologies and by using individual stocks rather than indices.

TL;DR: In this paper, fundraising is presented as an option of funding HEI, its underlying assumptions and forms, and its basic success determinants are presented as a HEI financing model in United States through its practice.
Abstract: Almost every private high educational institution (HEI) needs money and is in a constant search of finding resources needed for its activities. Besides funding diverse activities that are a part of HEI’s work, financial support is also needed for potential or existing educational programs development, especially its research work. Private HEI market is modern and growing market in Croatia, and through its’ development needs modern sources of funding. At this market, it is extremely important to attract the higher number of quality candidates, to organize quality and prosperous lectures, and to invest in faculty development. Unfortunately private HEI in Croatia are often facing a nonexistence of sufficient funding for its basic activities. Often, revenue from tuition fees is not sufficient to develop any additional activities. With regard to the private higher education development, most private HEI in developing countries are currently in the middle of following the best practices model within business schools in the United States. Imitating those best practices begins in imitation of financing, and implementation of US customary way of financing from external sources – fundraising. Through this paper, fundraising will be presented as an option of funding HEI, its underlying assumptions and forms. Its basic success determinants will be presented as a HEI financing model in United States through its practice, and based on research it will be shown that a potential of fundraising in private HEI in Croatia exists.

TL;DR: In this paper, an integral approach to corporate environmentalism is proposed and implemented in a small open transitional economy, and empirically verified the soundness of the proposed integral typology by surveying a large sample of Slovenian manufacturing companies by using maximum likelihood probit estimation, exploratory factor analysis, cluster analysis and binary logistic modeling.
Abstract: In this paper we propose and implement an integral approach to corporate environmentalism. Our integral model accounts not only for corporate environmentalism motivation and conception but also for corporate environmentalism mode and speed of implementation. A broad range of identified corporate environmentalism dimensions helps characterize five basic groups of companies we propose to name “non-compliers,” “legalistic incrementalists,” “greenwashers,” “incremental innovators,” and “radical innovators.” We then seek to empirically verify the soundness of the proposed integral typology by surveying a large sample of Slovenian manufacturing companies. Maximum likelihood probit estimation, exploratory factor analysis, cluster analysis and binary logistic modeling are used in the empirical analysis. Our main conclusions are twofold: (1) The integral approach to corporate environmentalism works: in the framework of a small open transitional economy, the model differentiates well among different groups of companies. (2) There are no radical innovators among Slovenian companies, and less than one third of the companies are actively thinking and acting in line of environment-friendly processes and products. This finding can be partially explained by the fact that Slovenian economy still has some transitional characteristics.
