TL;DR: This paper proposes a kind of image edge detection algorithm based on improved morphological gradient that can be detect the image using structural elements, which deals with the characteristic information of the image directly.
Abstract: Traditional edge detection operators such as Prewitt operator, LOG operator and Canny operator, etc. cannot meet the requirements of the modern industrial measurement. This paper proposes a kind of image edge detection algorithm based on improved morphological gradient. It can be detect the image using structural elements, which deals with the characteristic information of the image directly. Choosing different shapes and sizes of structural elements to use together, the ideal image edge information can be detected. The experimental result shows that the algorithm can well extract image edge with noise, which is clearer, and has more detailed edges compared with the previous edge detection algorithm.

TL;DR: In this article, an optimized fourth-order forest-ruth-like symplectic algorithm was proposed to solve inseparable Hamiltonian systems, which is based on a minimum of the norm of fifth-order truncation terms.
Abstract: An optimized fourth-order Forest–Ruth-like symplectic algorithm, which is based on a minimum of the norm of fifth-order truncation terms, was originally designed for separable Hamiltonian problems With the aid of extended phase space methods, this algorithm is further reformulated to explicitly solve inseparable Hamiltonian systems Although an extra permutation substep is included and destroys symplecticity in general, the method is symmetric and therefore resembles a symplectic integrator in conservation of the original Hamiltonian In fact, our numerical tests show that the optimized algorithm combined with the midpoint permutations always enhances the quality of numerical integrations in comparison with the corresponding nonoptimized counterpart for inseparable Hamiltonian problems As a result, the optimized algorithm is worth recommending in application

TL;DR: The proposed algorithm, named label propagation algorithm based on community belonging degree (LPA-CBD), has lower algorithm complexity and higher community detection quality, but also improves the stability of the originallabel propagation algorithm.
Abstract: In order to deal with stochasticity in center node selection and instability in community detection of label propagation algorithm, this paper proposes an improved label propagation algorithm named label propagation algorithm based on community belonging degree (LPA-CBD) that employs community belonging degree to determine the number and the center of community. The general process of LPA-CBD is that the initial community is identified by the nodes with the maximum degree, and then it is optimized or expanded by community belonging degree. After getting the rough structure of network community, the remaining nodes are labeled by using label propagation algorithm. The experimental results on 10 real-world networks and three synthetic networks show that LPA-CBD achieves reasonable community number, better algorithm accuracy and higher modularity compared with other four prominent algorithms. Moreover, the proposed algorithm not only has lower algorithm complexity and higher community detection quality, but ...

Abstract: Present study reports the solution of generalized Rosenau–Kawahara-RLW equation. It includes motion of single solitary wave, interaction of two solitary waves along with the calculated invariants and error norms. Gaussian and undular bore initial conditions are studied to show evolution of solitons. Developed train of solitons and conservation of invariants are shown via figures and tables in the respective sections. Various case studies are presented to demonstrate the efficiency of the proposed numerical scheme. Solutions so produced may be helpful for explaining various nonlinear physical phenomena in nonlinear dynamical systems.

TL;DR: In this article, the authors considered the entire mean first-passage time (EMFPT) with random walks for Cayley networks, and they used Laplacian spectra to calculate the EMFPT.
Abstract: In this paper, we consider the entire mean first-passage time (EMFPT) with random walks for Cayley networks. We use Laplacian spectra to calculate the EMFPT. Firstly, we calculate the constant term and monomial coefficient of characteristic polynomial. By using the Vieta theorem, we then obtain the sum of reciprocals of all nonzero eigenvalues of Laplacian matrix. Finally, we obtain the scaling of the EMFPT for Cayley networks by using the relationship between the sum of reciprocals of all nonzero eigenvalues of Laplacian matrix and the EMFPT. We expect that our method can be adapted to other types of self-similar networks, such as vicsek networks, polymer networks.

TL;DR: In this article, lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) simulation is performed to investigate laminar forced convection of nanofluids in a horizontal parallel-plate channel with three rectangular cavities.
Abstract: In this study, lattice Boltzmann method (LBM) simulation is performed to investigate laminar forced convection of nanofluids in a horizontal parallel-plate channel with three rectangular cavities. Two cavities are considered as located on the top wall of the channel and one on the bottom wall. The effects of the Reynolds number (100–400), the cavity aspect ratio (AR = 0.25, 0.5), the various distances of the cavities from each other (Xc′) at different solid volume fractions of nanofluids (ϕ=0−0.05) on the velocity and the temperature profiles of the nanofluids are studied. In addition, the flow patterns, i.e. the deflection and re-circulation zone inside the cavities, and the local and averaged Nusselt numbers on the channel walls are calculated. The results obtained are used to ascertain the validity of the written numerical code, which points to the excellent agreement across the results. The results show that, as the solid volume fraction of nanofluids is enhanced, the transfer of heat to working fluid...
