TLDR
The fatty acid 22:1 12-docosenoic acid was isolated from the rhizome of Ruscus aculeatus and the structure and double-bond position were determined by spectroscopic and chemical methods.
Abstract
The fatty acid 22:1 12-docosenoic acid was isolated from the rhizome of Ruscus aculeatus. The structure and double-bond position were determined by spectroscopic and chemical methods. The isolation and detailed structure elucidation of this fatty acid is reported for the first time from the plant material.

Structures of the ester-linked mono- and diunsaturated fatty acids of pig brain.

TL;DR: The structural characterization of monoand diunsaturated fatty acids present in ester form in pig brain is described and it is shown that the longer monoenoic acids appear to be formed by chain elongation with C:! units from shorter unsaturated acids.
Journal ArticleDOI

Improved methods for the isolation and study of the C18, C20 and C22 monoethylenic fatty acid isomers of biological samples: Hg adducts, HPLC, AgNO3-TLC/FID, and ozonolysis.

TL;DR: The monoethylenic isomers of C18, C20 and C22 chain lengths of the depot fat of a nonhominid primate, fed a partially hydrogenated herring oil for 30 months, were examined by 2 different approaches and their distribution was determined by ozonolysis in BF3/MeOH.

Sulphated steroidal derivatives from Ruscus aculeatus

TL;DR: Two novel steroidal derivatives were isolated from the rhizome of Ruscus aculeatus by spectroscopic methods and established the structures of 1β-hydroxyruscogenin 1-sulphate and 26-O-β- d -glucopyranosyl furost-5-en-1β,22ζ-triol 1-methine.
