A general forming limit criterion for sheet metal forming

TLDR
In this article, it is shown that the forming limit for both proportional loading and non-proportional loading can be explained from a single criterion which is based on the state of stress rather than the state-of-stress.

Probabilistic modeling of stress-based FLD in tube hydroforming process

TL;DR: In this paper, a probabilistic model on the stress-based tube hydroforming process with confidence level is proposed to predict the band width of the forming limit curve of the tube.

Prediction of necking of high strength steel tubes during hydroforming—multi-axial loading

TL;DR: Simha et al. as discussed by the authors derived upper and lower bound strain-based forming limit curves for tubular hydroforming of high strength low alloy (HSLA) and dual phase (DP600) straight tubes.

Characterizing void nucleation in a damage-based constitutive model using notched tensile sheet specimens

TL;DR: In this paper, an experimental and numerical test programme was conducted to investigate damage-induced ductile fracture in notched tensile sheet specimens of an aluminum-magnesium alloy, and a damage-based constitutive model was employed to estimate the formability of the material over a range of stress states found in sheet metal forming.

Forming limit diagram prediction of 6061 aluminum by GTN damage model

R. Safdarian
- 01 Sep 2018 -
TL;DR: In this article, Gurson-Tvergaard-Needleman (GTN) model is used for FLD prediction of aluminum alloy 6061 whereas correct selection of GTN parameters is effective in the accuracy of this model, anti-inference method and numerical simulation of the uniaxial tensile test is used to identify of GTNs parameters Proper parameters of GTn model is imported to the finite element analysis of Nakazima test for FLd prediction Whereas FLD is dependent on forming history and strain path, forming limit stress diagram (FLSD) based on the

Evaluation of Formability in Bending/Hemming of Aluminum Alloys Using Plane-Strain Tensile Tests

TL;DR: In this paper, a fundamental study for the characterization of formability in bending/hemming, or "bendability/hemmability," of automotive aluminum alloys is presented.
