A general forming limit criterion for sheet metal forming

TLDR
In this article, it is shown that the forming limit for both proportional loading and non-proportional loading can be explained from a single criterion which is based on the state of stress rather than the state-of-stress.

Formability analysis of pre-strained AA5754-O sheet metal using Yld96 plasticity theory : role of amount and direction of uni-axial pre-strain

TL;DR: In this article, different uni-axial pre-strains of 64% and 122% were induced in AA5754-O aluminum alloy both along rolling direction (RD) and transverse direction (TD) and the true stress-strain response, limiting dome height (LDH) and strain based forming limit diagram (e-FLD) of as received and all prestrained materials were evaluated experimentally.

Validation of metal plasticity and fracture models through numerical simulation of high velocity perforation

TL;DR: In this article, a new set of experiments with circular 2024-T3(51) aluminum alloy plates and AISI 52100 alloy steel spheres was conducted in order to augment available in literature experimental data and to form more precise reference solution for the benchmark problem.

A crystal plasticity model for describing the anisotropic hardening behavior of steel sheets during strain-path changes

TL;DR: In this paper, a viscoplastic self-consistent crystal plasticity model (VPSC-RGBV), which accounts for various microstructural features, including the accumulation and annihilation of dislocations due to slip activity and latent hardening originated from interactions between gliding dislocation on different slip planes, is described.

Necking and fracture limit analyses of different pre-strained sheet materials in polar effective plastic strain locus using Yld2000-2d yield model

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors estimate and analyze both the necking and fracture based path-independent forming limit criteria during two-stage forming of anisotropic sheet materials, and the predicted evolutions of the yield loci and both the strength and plastic strain ratio (r-value) directionalities of the pre-strained materials were calibrated with experimental data.

Analysis of the extended stress-based forming limit curve considering the effects of strain path and through-thickness normal stress

TL;DR: In this paper, an approach based on the modified Marciniak-Kuczynski (M-K) method for computation of an extended stress-based forming limit curve (FLC) is presented.
