A general forming limit criterion for sheet metal forming

TLDR
In this article, it is shown that the forming limit for both proportional loading and non-proportional loading can be explained from a single criterion which is based on the state of stress rather than the state-of-stress.

Failure parameter identification and validation for a dual-phase 780 steel sheet

TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid experimental-numerical procedure was implemented to determine the failure surface of a dual-phase 780 steel sheet as a function of the effective plastic strain, triaxiality, and Lode parameter using butterfly specimens with in situ digital image correlation strain measurement and supporting finite element calculations.

Failure strains of anisotropic thin sheet metals: Experimental evaluation and theoretical prediction

TL;DR: In this article, experimental and theoretical analyses were performed to predict the failure strain of EDD and AA5052 sheet metals, and the results were successfully validated with the experimental data.

Practical limitations to the influence of through-thickness normal stress on sheet metal formability

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors show that the influence of through-thickness normal stress on sheet metal formability is quite small for all practical purposes and validate the theory of the original and proposed model when practical limitations are considered.

Theoretical analysis of strain- and stress-based forming limit diagrams

TL;DR: In this article, the authors used the forming limit diagram for sheet metal forming to define the limit of deformation of materials without necking or fracture, and contributed in constructio...

Forming limit stresses predicted by phenomenological plasticity theories with anisotropic work-hardening behavior

TL;DR: In this article, the M-K model was used in conjunction with two anisotropic work-hardening models to analyze forming limit stresses of sheet metals subjected to linear and combined stress paths.
