Journal ArticleDOI

A procedure for the rapid, large-scall purification of Escherichia coli DNA-dependent RNA polymerase involving Polymin P precipitation and DNA-cellulose chromatography.

TL;DR: An improved method is described for the purification of the DNA-dependent RNA polymerase from Escherichia coli, resulting in a yield of 250 mg of holoenzyme from 500 g of cells.
Journal ArticleDOI

Eukaryotic RNA polymerases.

TL;DR: This review will attempt to cover the present information on the multiple forms of eukaryotic DNA-dependent RNA polymerases, both at the structural and functional level.
Journal ArticleDOI

A simple procedure for resolution of Escherichia coli RNA polymerase holoenzyme from core polymerase.

TL;DR: A method for the isolation of homogeneous Escherichia coli RNA polymerase holoenzyme is described, in which only small amounts of σ subunit are lost and RNA polymerases holoenzymes are well separated from the core polymerase.
Journal ArticleDOI

A new method for the large-scale purification of wheat germ DNA-dependent RNA polymerase II.

TL;DR: An improved method for the purification of the alpha-amanitin-sensitive deoxyribon nucleic acid dependent ribonucleic acid polymerase [ribonucleosidetriphosphate:RNA-nucleotidyltransferase, EC 2.7.6-A1] from wheat germ is presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

Interaction of the sigma factor and the nusA gene protein of E. coli with RNA polymerase in the initiation-termination cycle of transcription.

TL;DR: A nusA-Sepharose affinity column and gradient sedimentation experiments are used to show that thenusA protein binds directly, with great specificity, and with equimolar stoichiometry to the E. coli RNA polymerase core enzyme beta beta' alpha 2.
