TL;DR: In this article, the authors propose a strategy for multiculturalizing teacher education and examine three issues related to achieving this goal: (a) Why it is important for future teachers to develop multicultural perspectives and competencies; (b) how general principles of multicultural education and curriculum design can be integrated into teacher preparation programs; and (c) how this integration can be accomplished so that prospective teachers will be empowered, not unduly intimidated, to continue their profession growth in multiculturalism.

Multiculturalism’s narratives in Singapore and Canada: exploring a model for comparative multiculturalism and multicultural education

TL;DR: This article examined the diverse nature of multiculturalism and proposed a model that takes a pluralistic perspective on diversity by locating multiculturalism within the imaginings of the nation, using the concept of narratives with its ideological bases to invite dialogue among various multiculturalisms and examine the processes by which particular multicultural narratives emerge within their socio-political and historical locations.
