Influence of V additions on microstructures, tensile and fatigue properties of Al–Zn–Mg alloys

TL;DR: In this article, the aging hardening curve, tensile strength, and fatigue strength of Al-Zn-Mg alloy with different V content were studied, and it was discovered that an increase of V content obviously improves the tensile properties and the median fatigue strength, but has little effect on the aging hardness.
Journal ArticleDOI

Theoretical investigation of the strengthening mechanism and precipitation evolution in high strength Al–Zn–Mg alloys

TL;DR: It is found that solute atoms Mg and Zn are likely to segregate to the Σ5(210)[001] tilt Al GB, and calculations indicate that a Zn/Mg/Zn sandwich configuration in the Al matrix (100) planes is energetically favorable.
Journal ArticleDOI

The effects of combined cyclic close die forging and aging process on microstructure and mechanical properties of AA7075

TL;DR: In this paper, it is known that applying severe plastic deformation methods on the precipitation hardenable aluminum alloys at room temperature is very difficult because of crack formation and segmentation.

Influence of the heat treatment and of the chromium addition on the precipitation phenomena of AI-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the work of the Departamento de Fisico-Quimica Intituto de Quimica - UNESP, C.P. 355, Araraquara, Sao Paulo, 14800-900

The nucleation of precipitates: The system Al-Zn-Mg

TL;DR: In this article, a semiquantitative theory has been developed for the formation of precipitate free zones at grain boundaries and the results have been used to develop a model of nucleation by vacancy/solute atom clusters.
