TLDR
The basic ideas discussed in the paper are, perhaps, the first steps towards a practical theory of fuzzy systems.Abstract:
This paper considers the difficulties which arise from an attempt to analyse fuzzy systems. Previous work in this area is briefly reviewed and a new way of describing closed-loop fuzzy systems is introduced. Using only finite discrete fuzzy relations, it is possible to define such concepts as state equivalence, stability and controllability, and, by restricting attention to a special class of systems, a simple control problem can be solved. The basic ideas discussed in the paper are, perhaps, the first steps towards a practical theory of fuzzy systems.read more

Stability analysis and design of fuzzy control systems
Kazuo Tanaka,Michio Sugeno +1 more
TL;DR: The fuzzy block diagrams and the stability analysis are applied to the design problems of a model-based fuzzy controller and a new design technique of a fuzzy controller is proposed.
Journal ArticleDOI
An introductory survey of fuzzy control
TL;DR: This paper picks up key points in applying fuzzy control and shows very recent results in industrial applications and points out some interesting and important problems to be solved.

On stability of fuzzy systems expressed by fuzzy rules with singleton consequents
TL;DR: Stability theorems for a discrete-time system as well as for a continuous time system are given and a brief survey on the stability issues of fuzzy control systems is given.
Journal ArticleDOI
Paper: A control engineering review of fuzzy systems
TL;DR: Fuzzy set theory is a relatively new concept which allows this qualitativeness to be expressed rigorously and its usefulness for control is assessed and a surprising number of practical successes are revealed.

Theoretical and linguistic aspects of the fuzzy logic controller
M. Braae,D. A. Rutherford +1 more
TL;DR: The so-called linguistic models that arise from this notation are shown to be extremely useful for modelling highly nonlinear low-order systems and for determining, explicitly, the rules of 'optimal' fuzzy logic controllers.

Applications of Fuzzy Sets to Systems Analysis
TL;DR: One of the objects of this book was to facilitate communication by bringing toge- ther different viewpoints and coloring them from a common viewpoint.

Outline of an approach for the analysis of fuzzy systems
TL;DR: A method for the analysis of fuzzy systems using the concept of fuzzy sets is proposed, which enables us to represent quantitatively the sum (or product) of fuzzy variables like large and small, and the convolution of fuzzy sequences.
