Application of natural dyes on textiles
TLDR
In this paper, the authors have reported the studies available on the characterization and chemical/biochemical analysis of natural dyes; extraction of colorants from different natural sources; effects of different mordants and mordanting methods; conventional and non-conventional methods of natural dyeing; physico-chemical studies on dyeing process variables and dyeing kinetics; development of newer shades and analysis of colour parameters for textiles dyed with natural dye.Abstract:
This paper reports the studies available on the characterization and chemical/biochemical analysis of natural dyes; extraction of colorants from different natural sources; effects of different mordants and mordanting methods; conventional and non-conventional methods of natural dyeing; physico-chemical studies on dyeing process variables and dyeing kinetics; development of newer shades and analysis of colour parameters for textiles dyed with natural dyes; and test of compatibility for application of binary mixture of natural dyes. The chemical modification of textile substrate for improving dyeability, attempts for improvement in overall colour fastness properties and survey of some traditional processes of natural dyeing in different parts of India have also been discussed.read more

Natural Dyes: Extraction and Applications
TL;DR: The European Union is likely to impose ban on these toxic dyes shortly as discussed by the authors and India has also banned the use of specific azo-dyes and under notification sufficient legal teeth had been given for taking panel action against those who use these dyes.

Application of Lac Dye in Shoe Upper Leather Dyeing
TL;DR: In this article, the authors applied the natural lac dyes (byproduct of shellac and shellac products industry) extracted from washings of the stick lac by conventional methods.

Colorful nanofibrous composite membranes by two-nozzle electrospinning
TL;DR: In this article, the color characteristics of nanofibrous composite membranes were investigated with a spectrophotometer and were seen to be affected by the composition ratio of dye and PAN molecules as evidenced by the resolution values.

Soybean: For Textile Applications and Its Printing
Ozan Avinc,Arzu Yavaş +1 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors used acid and 1:2 metal-complex dyes (originally used for printing of natural protein fibers such as wool and silk) and special reactive dyes for regenerated soybean fiber printing leading to high color strength with adequate color fastness performance.
