Architectural effect on 3D elastic properties and anisotropy of cubic lattice structures

TLDR
In this article, the elastic properties of a large panel of lattice architectures using a continuous description of geometry are investigated, and the elastic constants of the orthotropic material are determined, and discussed in terms of specific stiffness and of its density dependence.

The select of internal architecture for porous Ti alloy scaffold: A compromise between mechanical properties and permeability

TL;DR: In this article, three different topological porous structures (primitive, gyroid, bcc) with a porosity of 65% were designed and fabricated by selective laser melting using Ti-6Al-4V powders.

Isotropic porous structure design methods based on triply periodic minimal surfaces

TL;DR: In this paper, two strategies are proposed to design isotropic triply periodic minimal surface (TPMS) structures, where numerical homogenization theory and finite element analysis methods are utilized to study the relationship between TPMS parameters and the elastic modulus or anisotropy properties.

Advanced lattice material with high energy absorption based on topology optimisation

TL;DR: In this article, a cuttlebone-like lattice (CLL) material is obtained and its deformation behavior and compressive properties under impact loads are investigated, and the results show that the CLL material undergoes a bucklingdominated and layer-by-layer deforming process, irrespective of cell-wall materials and relative densities.

Effect of powder bed fusion laser melting process parameters, build orientation and strut thickness on porosity, accuracy and tensile properties of an auxetic structure in IN718 alloy

TL;DR: In this paper, the geometry of an auxetic, reentrant honeycomb structure made from Inconel 718 (IN718), was optimised with respect to the process parameters of laser melting process using a Renishaw AM250 after which the quasi static behaviour was analysed under tensile loading.

The powder-based 3D printed alloys on titanium-based biomaterial applications: A review

TL;DR: In this article , the most advanced multi-material 3D printing methods for titanium-based biomaterials were presented for bone tissue engineering, the application of titanium alloy as bone substitutes and the development of manufacturing technology.

TetGen, a Delaunay-Based Quality Tetrahedral Mesh Generator

TL;DR: The essential algorithms and techniques used to develop TetGen are presented, including an efficient tetrahedral mesh data structure, a set of enhanced local mesh operations, and filtered exact geometric predicates, which can robustly handle arbitrary complex 3D geometries and is fast in practice.

Effective properties of the octet-truss lattice material

TL;DR: In this article, the effective mechanical properties of the octet-truss lattice structured material have been investigated both experimentally and theoretically, and the intervention of elastic buckling of the struts is also analysed in an approximate manner.
