Development of an FEM model for pressure test simulation of transformer tanks with skid bases

TL;DR: In this paper, a generalized model of the transformer tank under the pressure was solved to eliminate the assumption, and the results were compared with those of the usual practice, finding that there was significant difference in the results of the two models indicating the incorrectness of the normal practice.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of Ammonium Sulphate ((NH4)2 SO4) on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of SA-213-Gr.T22 and SA-210-Gr.A1 Steel in the Water Tube Boiler

TL;DR: In this article, the effect of ammonium sulphate (NH4)2 SO4 leak mixed in the boiler feed water system on the microstructure, chemistry, metallurgy and mechanical properties of the water tube boiler was presented.
Journal ArticleDOI

It Is Necessary to Abrogate All the International Basic Standards of Seals

TL;DR: In this article, the International System of Quantities (ISQ) 200 standard is used to define a set of physical quantities, divided into base quantity and derived quantity, and these base and derived quantities are related to each other by some laws and their equations.
Journal ArticleDOI

Preliminary Design Analysis of a Hot Gas Duct for the NHDD Program at Korea

TL;DR: In this paper, a coaxial double-tube hot gas duct (HGD) is a key component connecting the reactor pressure vessel and the intermediate heat exchanger for the NHDD program.
Journal ArticleDOI

Design Improvements in a 30,000 kcal/h Air Furnace, Assisted by CFD and Infrared Thermography~!2008-09-10~!2008-10-30~!2008-11-26~!

TL;DR: In this article, the authors report on the use of commercial computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software, assisted by infrared thermography, to predict and prove the flow and heat transfer in a 30,000 kcal/h air furnace.

A feasibility study of a neutrino source based on a muon storage ring

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of a study commissioned by the Fermilab Director on the feasibility of an intense neutrino source, based on a muon storage ring.
Journal ArticleDOI

A unified multiaxial fatigue damage model for isotropic and anisotropic materials

TL;DR: In this article, a unified multiaxial fatigue damage model based on a characteristic plane approach is proposed, integrating both isotropic and anisotropic materials into one framework.
Journal ArticleDOI

Corrosion-fatigue: a review of damage tolerance models

TL;DR: A review of recent efforts made by the different interested parties, in both academia and industry, in the development of corrosion fatigue (CF) lifetime prediction procedures can be found in this article.

Where the Engineers Are

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of globalization on the engineering profession has been studied, and the authors have sought to assess the comparative engineering education of the United States and its major new competitors, India and China; identify the sources of current U.S. trend towards outsourcing; and learn what the United states can do to keep its economic edge.
