Effect of welding sequence on multi pass temper bead welding joint of pt .inka bogie lrt on distorction, micro structure and hardness

TL;DR: In this article, Bogie hasil proses fabrikasi dengan pengelasan, memerlukan proses annealing untuk mereduksi tegangan sisa ying terjadi.
Journal ArticleDOI

Studies on the propagation of surface cracks in a piping elbow subjected to an in-plane bending moment

TL;DR: In this paper, a three-dimensional finite element code using ANSYS was developed to evaluate the mode I stress intensity factor (SIF) based on the displacement extrapolation method.
Journal ArticleDOI

Methodology and Warm Prestressing Effect for Pressurized Thermal Shock Analysis in Nuclear Power Plant

TL;DR: In this article, the FAVOR code is applied to calculate the probabilities for crack initiation and failure by considering crack distributions based on cracks observed in the Shoreham and PVRUF RPVs in the U.S. A local approach to fracture, i.e. the σ*-A* model is used to predict the warm prestressing effect on the RPV integrity.

The Analysis of Bolted Flange Joints under Internal Pressure at High Temperature

TL;DR: In this paper, the deformation coordination equation of bolted flange connection system, the gasket compressive and resilient performance, as well as gasket creep equation are combined to study the effect of internal pressure on bolted flane connections under a certain bolt preload and operating temperature, and the main objective of the work is the calculation of the time-correlated gasket force, flange rotation and gasket unloading deformation under different internal pressure.

Thermal System Modeling for Lunar and Martian Surface Regenerative Fuel Cell Systems

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors evaluated the performance of regenerative fuel cell (RFC) systems employing different fuel cell chemistries, including Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) and Solid Oxide Fuel Cell (SOFC), in the Advanced Exploration Systems (AES) Advanced Modular Power Systems (AMPS) Project.

Where the Engineers Are

TL;DR: In this paper, the impact of globalization on the engineering profession has been studied, and the authors have sought to assess the comparative engineering education of the United States and its major new competitors, India and China; identify the sources of current U.S. trend towards outsourcing; and learn what the United states can do to keep its economic edge.
