A feasibility study of a neutrino source based on a muon storage ring

TL;DR: In this article, the authors present the results of a study commissioned by the Fermilab Director on the feasibility of an intense neutrino source, based on a muon storage ring.
Journal ArticleDOI

A unified multiaxial fatigue damage model for isotropic and anisotropic materials

TL;DR: In this article, a unified multiaxial fatigue damage model based on a characteristic plane approach is proposed, integrating both isotropic and anisotropic materials into one framework.
Journal ArticleDOI

Corrosion-fatigue: a review of damage tolerance models

TL;DR: A review of recent efforts made by the different interested parties, in both academia and industry, in the development of corrosion fatigue (CF) lifetime prediction procedures can be found in this article.

Structural Integrity of Main Heat Transport System Piping of AHWR

K. K. Vaze
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed SS 304LN, a high-pressure main heat transport (MHT) system for the Advanced Heavy Water Reactor (AHWR), which is a 920 MWth, 300 MWe vertical pressure tube type reactor, which uses boiling light water as a coolant.
Journal ArticleDOI

Effect of the Holding Time during Solution Heat Treatment on Intergranular Corrosion of Unstabilized Austenitic Stainless Steels

TL;DR: In this paper, the holding time during solution heat treatment of unstabilized austenitic stainless steels as specified in the nuclear regulatory requirements was investigated, and the sensitized 2.54cm thick specimens held at 675°C for 1 h were rejected by ASTM A262 test, due to the large amount of chromium carbide precipitated in the form of 50~300nm particles at the grain boundaries.
Journal ArticleDOI

Examining Stress Relaxation in a Dissimilar Metal Weld Subjected to Postweld Heat Treatment

TL;DR: In this article, a dissimilar weld between modified 9Cr-1Mo steel and austenitic stainless steel AISI 316LN was made using autogenous electron beam welding.

Initial Evaluation of Acoustic Emission SHM of PRSEUS Multi-bay Box Tests

TL;DR: A series of tests of the Pultruded Rod Stitched Efficient Unitized Structure (PRSEUS) HWB Multi-Bay Test Article were conducted during the second quarter of 2015 at NASA Langley Research Center (LaRC) in the Combined Loads Test facility (COLTS) as discussed by the authors.
