TLDR
The results from this study indicate that long-term adoption of ZT leads to higher macroporosity and connectivity of pores which is likely to have positive implications for nutrient cycling, root growth, soil gas fluxes and water dynamics.

X-ray microtomography analysis of soil pore structure dynamics under wetting and drying cycles

TL;DR: 3D images permitted detailed analysis of the pore shape and size distribution and soil water retention curve was influenced by wetting and drying cycles.

Brachiaria species influence nitrate transport in soil by modifying soil structure with their root system

TL;DR: Palisade grass could be a more efficient nitrate catch crop than ruzigrass (the most extensively used currently in countries such as Brazil) due to retardation in solute flow associated with the fine root system and the complex pore network.

3D analysis of the soil porous architecture under long term contrasting management systems by X-ray computed tomography

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of three contrasting tillage systems (zero-tillage, ZT, reduced tillage, RT, conventional tilage, CT) in the soil porous system of an Oxisol was analyzed.

Expansion of no-tillage practice in conservation agriculture in Brazil

TL;DR: The first official data on the use of this practice were collected in the Agricultural Census of 2006 and after that again in 2017 as mentioned in this paper, which provided primary data that made possible an analysis of the dynamics of the adoption of No-Tillage practice within the development of conservation agriculture systems.

Analysis of the intra-aggregate pore structures in three soil types using X-ray computed tomography

TL;DR: Wang et al. as mentioned in this paper investigated the soil pore structure in aggregates from three typical zonal soil types (alpine meadow soil, chestnut soil and red soil) from cold, temperate and subtropical regions of China, respectively, using X-ray microscopic computed tomography (CT) with a resolution of 7μm.
