Underdetermined blind modal identification of structures by earthquake and ambient vibration measurements via sparse component analysis

TL;DR: In this article, a sparse component analysis (SCA) approach was adopted to handle underdetermined blind modal identification of structures, where the number of sensors is less than the total number of active modes.

Efficient model updating of a multi-story frame and its foundation stiffness from earthquake records using a timoshenko beam model

Experimental study on damping characteristics of soil-structure interaction system based on shaking table test

TL;DR: Based on the analysis of motion state of soil-structure interaction (SSI) system, the authors presented the damping characteristic of SSI system via shaking table test and the results of transfer function, acceleration response time histories and equivalent viscous damping ratio and so on indicate that under certain conditions, SSI system shows approximate classical damping characteristics.

Independent component analysis, a new concept?

Pierre Comon
- 01 Apr 1994 -
TL;DR: An efficient algorithm is proposed, which allows the computation of the ICA of a data matrix within a polynomial time and may actually be seen as an extension of the principal component analysis (PCA).

Independent Component Analysis

TL;DR: Independent component analysis as mentioned in this paper is a statistical generative model based on sparse coding, which is basically a proper probabilistic formulation of the ideas underpinning sparse coding and can be interpreted as providing a Bayesian prior.

Independent Component Analysis

TL;DR: A statistical generative model called independent component analysis is discussed, which shows how sparse coding can be interpreted as providing a Bayesian prior, and answers some questions which were not properly answered in the sparse coding framework.

A blind source separation technique using second-order statistics

TL;DR: A new source separation technique exploiting the time coherence of the source signals is introduced, which relies only on stationary second-order statistics that are based on a joint diagonalization of a set of covariance matrices.

Introduction thesis for soil structure identification?

The provided paper is about blind identification of soil-structure systems. It discusses the influence of surrounding soil on the dynamic response of buildings and presents a new identification technique for extracting complex mode shapes from recorded vibrations. However, it does not explicitly mention an introduction thesis for soil structure identification.
