Breakdown of Time−Temperature Superposition Principle and Universality of Chain Dynamics in Polymers

TL;DR: In this paper, a detailed comparison of temperature dependences of segmental (τα) and chain (τn) relaxation times was conducted and it was shown that decoupling of these relaxation processes occurs at a similar range of τα ∼ 10-5−10-7 s regardless of a polymer and its molecular weight.

Complex formation in aqueous trimethylamine-N-oxide (TMAO) solutions.

TL;DR: In this paper, aqueous solutions of the amphiphilic osmolyte trimethylamine-Noxide (TMAO) were studied using broadband dielectric spectroscopy and femtosecond mid-infrared spectrographs.
Journal ArticleDOI

Examination of the fundamental relation between ionic transport and segmental relaxation in polymer electrolytes

TL;DR: In this article, the authors show that the ionic conductivity in polymers can be decoupled from their segmental dynamics, in terms of both temperature dependence and relative transport rate.
Journal ArticleDOI

Enhanced charge transport in nano-confined ionic liquids

TL;DR: In this article, the authors investigated charge transport in ionic liquids contained in unidirectional nanoporous membranes (pore diameters: 7.5-10.4 nm) by combining broadband dielectric spectroscopy (BDS) and pulsed field gradient (PFG)-NMR.

Segmental dynamics of polyurea: Effect of stoichiometry

TL;DR: In this paper, the effect of variations in the soft/hard segment ratio, achieved through stoichiometry changes, in elastomeric polyurea was studied, consistent with the idea that the impact performance of elastomers is governed by the segmental dynamics rather than properties measured in conventional mechanical tests.
