TLDR
In an attempt to obtain new square grid polymers we could prepare the copper(II) complex [Cu(4, 4'-bipy)2 (H2O)2 ] by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods as mentioned in this paper, which is a square grid polymer with the saccharinate anions sandwiched between the complex layers and the DMF molecules filling the square holes.Abstract:
In an attempt to obtain new square grid polymers we could prepare the copper(II) complex [Cu(4, 4'-bipy)2 (H2O)2](sac)2 · DMF (4, 4'-bipy = 4, 4'-bipyridine; sac = anion of saccharin; DMF = dimethylformamide) Its structure was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction methods It crystallizes in the orthorhombic space group Pcnb (a = 144994(2), b = 158128(3), c = 166850(2) A, Z = 4) and is a square grid polymer with the saccharinate anions sandwiched between the complex layers and the DMF molecules filling the square holes UV-vis, diffuse reflectance and IR spectra, room temperature magnetic susceptibility and the thermal behaviour were also investigated

Metal complexes of saccharin
TL;DR: In this paper, a wide variety of metal species based on mononuclear, binuclear, polynuclear complexes and extended coordination polymers are discussed in relation to the coordination modes of the anion, i.e., monodentate (through the N-atom or the carbonylic O-atom), bidentate, tridentate or bridge forming.

Flexible Two-Dimensional Square-Grid Coordination Polymers: Structures and Functions
TL;DR: A 4,4′-bipyridine molecule, which is a simple, linear, exobidentate, and rigid ligand molecule, can construct two-dimensional (2D) square grid type CPs, which can make it possible to overcome the dilemma of strong adsorption and easy desorption.

Synthesis and structural characterization of three saccharinate–metal complexes with exo-bidentate bis(imidazole) derivatives
TL;DR: In this article, three coordination compounds were obtained from self-assembly of the metal salts with bis-imidazole ligands in the presence of saccharinato ion, and their structures were fully characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD) analysis, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, elemental analysis, and thermogravimetric analyses.
