- Vol. 3954, pp 1-33
TLDR
This document specifies the data export format for version 9 of Cisco Systems' NetFlow services, for use by implementations on the network elements and/or matching collector programs.
Abstract
This document specifies the data export format for version 9 of Cisco Systems' NetFlow services, for use by implementations on the network elements and/or matching collector programs. The version 9 export format uses templates to provide access to observations of IP packet flows in a flexible and extensible manner. A template defines a collection of fields, with corresponding descriptions of structure and semantics. This memo provides information for the Internet community.

FlowContext: Flexible Platform for Multigigabit Stateful Packet Processing

TL;DR: An architecture of flexible FlowContext platform capable of stateful processing at multigigabit speeds that allows to analyze and process incoming network traffic with a flow-based approach rather than packet-based one is proposed.

SNMP Trace Analysis Definitions

TL;DR: This document introduces some common definitions that have been found useful for implementing tools to support trace analysis and split potentially large traces into more manageable pieces that make it easier to deal with large data sets and simplify the analysis of the data.

System and method for synchronized reporting in a network environment

TL;DR: In this paper, a data record is generated based on the information associated with the packets and the data record includes a synchronized time window field that defines a time boundary at which data aggregation associated with data records is stopped.

Proposal for Kelly Criterion-Inspired Lossy Network Compression for Network Intrusion Applications

TL;DR: This work proposes using a Kelly criterion inspired algorithm to select which sessions and how much of each session to transmit, and the expectation is that this will minimize the total amount of traffic transmitted while maximizing the amount of malicious traffic transmitted.
