Benoit Claise
- Vol. 3954, pp 1-33
TLDR
This document specifies the data export format for version 9 of Cisco Systems' NetFlow services, for use by implementations on the network elements and/or matching collector programs.
Abstract
This document specifies the data export format for version 9 of Cisco Systems' NetFlow services, for use by implementations on the network elements and/or matching collector programs. The version 9 export format uses templates to provide access to observations of IP packet flows in a flexible and extensible manner. A template defines a collection of fields, with corresponding descriptions of structure and semantics. This memo provides information for the Internet community.

COTraSE: Connection Oriented Traceback in Switched Ethernet

TL;DR: This work has implemented the core algorithm of L2 traceback in switched Ethernet, and used data from available WAN traces to demonstrate the potential memory efficiency of the approach.

OutGene: Detecting Undefined Network Attacks with Time Stretching and Genetic Zooms

TL;DR: The paper presents OutGene, an approach for streaming detection of malicious activity without previous knowledge about attacks or training data, and introduces the notion of genetic zoom, that consists in using a genetic algorithm to identify the features that are more relevant to characterize a cluster.

Cyber Threat Intelligence Sharing Scheme Based on Federated Learning for Network Intrusion Detection

TL;DR: In this paper , the authors proposed a collaborative federated learning scheme to address privacy concerns and the lack of a universal format of datasets, which allows multiple organizations to join forces in the design, training, and evaluation of a robust ML-based network intrusion detection system.

Dealing with P2P traffic in modern networks: measurement, identification and control

TL;DR: A new transport protocol for P2P traffic, LEDBAT (Low Extra Delay Background Transport Protocol), the congestion control algorithm of the official BitTorrent client is studied, which aims to provide an efficient, lower-than-best-effort service.
