Multiwalled carbon nanotube polymer composites: synthesis and characterization of thin films

TL;DR: In this article, ultrasonic energy was used to uniformly disperse multiwalled carbon nanotubes (MWNTs) in solutions and to incorporate them into composites without chemical pretreatment.
Journal ArticleDOI

6 Studies of spin-coated polymer films

TL;DR: In this paper, the fundamental physical and chemical processes governing the conventional spincoating process and methodologies for the preparation of spin-coated polymer thin films are discussed and a range of advanced applications and recent developments within this field are reviewed with focus on engineering chemical and topological structure during the coating process.

The mechanics of spin coating of polymer films

C. J. Lawrence
- 01 Oct 1988 -
TL;DR: In this paper, the process of spin coating is described, with particular attention to applications in microelectronics, and the physical mechanisms involved in the process are discussed and those mechanisms that affect the final state are identified, viz., centrifugal and viscous forces, solute diffusion, and solvent evaporation.

Electroluminescence of Multicomponent Conjugated Polymers. 1. Roles of Polymer/Polymer Interfaces in Emission Enhancement and Voltage-Tunable Multicolor Emission in Semiconducting Polymer/Polymer Heterojunctions

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of the electronic structure of polymer/polymer interfaces on the electroluminescence efficiency and tunable multicolor emission of polymer heterojunction light-emitting diodes were explored by a series of 16 n-type conjugated polymers with varying electron affinities and ionization potentials in conjunction with poly(p-phenylenevinylene).

Cellulose model surfaces - simplified preparation by spin coating and characterization by X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, infrared spectroscopy, and atomic force microscopy

TL;DR: In this paper, the optimal spin coating parameters resulted in a cellulose film with 20 nm thickness and 10% roughness, determined by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and attenuated total reflectance infrared spectroscopy (ATR-IR).
