Colon polyp detection using smoothed shape operators: Preliminary results

TLDR
The smoothed shape operators method (SSO) is presented, which uses a geometry processing approach to extract a triangle mesh representation of the colon surface, and estimate curvature on this surface using the shape operator.

Computer-Aided Colorectal Tumor Classification in NBI Endoscopy Using CNN Features

TL;DR: A recognition system for classifying NBI images of colorectal tumors into three types (A, B, and C3) based on the NBI magnification findings achieves a recognition rate of 96% for 10-fold cross validation on a real dataset of 908 N BI images collected during actual colonoscopy, and 93% for a separate test dataset.

Computer-aided colorectal tumor classification in NBI endoscopy using local features.

TL;DR: In this article, a bag-of-visual-words (BoW) representation of local features was used to classify NBI images of colorectal tumors into three types (A, B, and C3) based on the NBI magnification findings.

Real-time gastric polyp detection using convolutional neural networks.

TL;DR: A convolutional neural network for polyp detection that is constructed based on Single Shot MultiBox Detector architecture and which is called SSD for Gastric Polyps (SSD-GPNet) has excellent performance and can help endoscopic physicians more easily find missed polyps and decrease the gastric polyp miss rate.

Computer-assisted reader software versus expert reviewers for polyp detection on CT colonography.

TL;DR: ColonCAR version 1.2 has a synergistic effect to the reviewer alone, and its standalone performance may exceed even that of experts, with a clinically acceptable false-positive rate.

Marching cubes: A high resolution 3D surface construction algorithm

TL;DR: In this paper, a divide-and-conquer approach is used to generate inter-slice connectivity, and then a case table is created to define triangle topology using linear interpolation.

Cancer statistics, 2006.

TL;DR: The American Cancer Society estimated the number of new cancer cases and deaths expected in the United States in the current year and compiles the most recent data on cancer incidence, mortality, and survival based on incidence data from the National Cancer Institute and mortality data from National Center for Health Statistics as discussed by the authors.

Prevention of colorectal cancer by colonoscopic polypectomy. The National Polyp Study Workgroup.

TL;DR: The results of the National Polyp Study support the view that colorectal adenomas progress to adenocarcinomas, as well as the current practice of searching for and removing adenomatous polyps to prevent coloreCTal cancer.

A volumetric method for building complex models from range images

TL;DR: This paper presents a volumetric method for integrating range images that is able to integrate a large number of range images yielding seamless, high-detail models of up to 2.6 million triangles.

Topology matching for fully automatic similarity estimation of 3D shapes

TL;DR: A novel technique is proposed, called Topology Matching, in which similarity between polyhedral models is quickly, accurately, and automatically calculated by comparing Multiresolutional Reeb Graphs (MRGs), which operates well as a search key for 3D shape data sets.
