TLDR
In this paper, a simplified fabrication technique has been developed by mixing volatilizable plastic spheres and PZT powder, and when sintered and backfilled with epoxy, and poled, these composites give excellent piezoelectric voltage coefficients.

Modeling 1-3 composite piezoelectrics: thickness-mode oscillations

TL;DR: A simple physical model of 1-3 composite piezoelectrics is advanced for the material properties that are relevant to thickness-mode oscillations, revealing that the composite's material properties cannot be optimized simultaneously; tradeoffs must be made.

Physical properties of crystals

John F. Nye
TL;DR: In this paper, the physical properties of crystals systematically in tensor notation are presented, presenting tensor properties in terms of their common mathematical basis and the thermodynamic relations between them.
Journal ArticleDOI

Connectivity and piezoelectric-pyroelectric composites

TL;DR: In this article, a series and parallel model for composite piezoelectric and pyroelectrics is presented, which leads to several interesting results, such as a diphasic pyroelectric in which neither phase is pyrocharged.
