Correlation between plasma frequency and superconducting transition temperature in YBa2Cu3Oy

TLDR
In this article, the authors measured the reflectivity spectra of YBa 2 Cu 3 O y for various oxygen content and found that the plasma edge shifts towards lower energy with decreasing oxygen content, hence with decreasing T c.
Abstract
The plasma reflectivity spectra of YBa 2 Cu 3 O y were measured for various oxygen content y . It was found that the plasma edge shifts towards lower energy with decreasing oxygen content y , hence with decreasing T c . This result is discussed, together with the result on the Hall coefficient, based on the Mott-Hubbard and the Fermi liquid picture. It turns out that the latter is appropriate to explain the plasmon behavior in the oxide superconductors. Comparing the plasma frequencies ω p of other oxide superconductors, we find the linear relation between ω 2 p and T c , which cannot be explained by the BCS-theory.

The optical study of the doping effect in single-crystal Bi2Sr2(Ca, A)Cu2O8+x (A=YorNd)

TL;DR: In this article, the reflectivity of single-crystal Bi 2 Sr 2 (Ca, A)Cu 2 O 8+x (A=Y or Nd) was measured and transformed to the optical conduc tivity through the Kramers-Kronig relation, and a broad peak was observed in the mid-infrared region in the conductivity of the semiconducting samples, and the position of the peak shifts to O eV with increasing doped-carrier concentration.

A new narrow band of highly correlated electrons in oxide superconductors

TL;DR: In this paper, the electronic state in the metal-insulator transition region of the high T c superconducting oxides is theoretically studied using the d-p mixing model, and it is found that a new narrow band arises spontaneously inside the charge transfer gap due to a many body effect, and develops with hole doping.
