Lewis Acid-mediated ArSE Aroylation of Naphthalene Derivative: Distinct Second Aroylation Behavior of α-Naphthyl Ketone

TL;DR: Dual ArSE aroylation of 2,7-dimethoxynaphthalene proceeds with distinct susceptibility and regioselectivity depending on the Lewis acid as discussed by the authors.
Journal ArticleDOI

Spontaneous (Anti)meron Chains in the Domain Walls of van der Waals Ferromagnetic Fe5−xGeTe2

TL;DR: The distinctive features of the (anti)meron chains and their collective dynamic behavior under external fields may provide concrete experimental evidence for the recent theoretical prediction of the magnetic-domain-wall topology and endorse a broader range of possibilities for electronics, spintronics, condensed matter physics, etc.
Journal ArticleDOI

Construction of Chiral Polar Crystals from Achiral Molecules by Stacking Control of Hydrogen-Bonded Layers Using Type II Halogen Bonds

TL;DR: In this paper, the chiral P1 and P21 space groups were obtained from achiral molecules based on stacking control of chiral two-dimensional hydrogen-bonded layers by halogen bonds (XBs).

Raising the Bar in Aromatic Donor-Acceptor Interactions with Cyclic Trinuclear Gold(I) Complexes as Strong π-Donors.

TL;DR: It is shown that strong donor-acceptor interactions between planar aromatics with binding free energies down to -10.1 kcal mol-1 and association constants of up to 2.34 × 107 L mol- 1 for 1:1 complexes can be realized using cyclic trinuclear complexes of gold(I) with pyridinate, imidazolate, or carbeniate ligands.

1,8-Dibenzoyl-2,7-dimethoxy-naphthalene.

TL;DR: The molecule of the title compound, C26H20O4, is located on a twofold rotation axis and the two benzoyl groups are situated in an anti orientation.
