Book ChapterDOI
Secondary Bonding to Nonmetallic Elements
TL;DR: In this article, a qualitative explanation of the secondary bond behavior is given, and it is argued that the secondary bonds are the result of directed forces rather than electrostatic or non-nondirectional van der Waals forces.
Journal ArticleDOI
X‐ray photoemission studies of tellurium and some of its compounds
TL;DR: In this paper, the energies of the 3p1/2, 3/2/3/2 photopeaks have been measured for tellurium metal and 23 of its compounds, and an attempt is made to interpret chemical bonding in some of the compounds by comparing core level binding energy shifts with isomer shifts observed through Mossbauer spectroscopy.
Book ChapterDOI
Developments in chalcogen-halide chemistry
Bernt Krebs,Frank‐Peter Ahlers +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors present an account of the current preparative and structural aspects of chalcogen-halide chemistry, focusing on the inorganic chemistry of the binary chlorides, bromides, and iodides as well as on corresponding hypervalent anionic and cationic halo derivatives; fluorides are referred to in only a few cases.
Journal ArticleDOI
Zur Kenntnis der Subhalogenide des Tellurs
TL;DR: In this article, the structure of Te3Cl2 has been investigated using a single crystal method, which consists of macromolecular units of tellurium atoms, which are then used for structure determination with single crystal methods.
