TLDR
In this paper, the demagnetizing factors of ellipsoids of three different axes are presented, along with supplementary formulas which cover a large number of special cases of ellipses.Abstract:
Charts and tables of the demagnetizing factors of prolate and oblate spheroids are readily available; however, demagnetizing factors of ellipsoids of three different axes are incompletely tabulated and laborious to calculate. This article presents charts and tables which make possible easy determination of the demagnetizing factor for any principal axis of an ellipsoid of any shape. Formulas for the demagnetizing factors of the general ellipsoid are included together with supplementary formulas which cover a large number of special cases.read more

Magnetism and compressive modulus of magnetic fluid containing gels
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors measured the compressive modulus of magnetic fluid containing gels, called ferrogels, in the presence of magnetic field and found that the mean and maximum change in modulus at 4 kOe was 31 and 71 Pa, respectively, which corresponds to 19% and 46% increases of that without field, respectively.

Characterization of the methylene 13C chemical shift tensor in the normal alkane n‐C20H42
TL;DR: In this article, the chemical shift tensors of n−eicosane (n−C20H42) were characterized using the method of high power proton decoupling and the chemical shifts were characterized.

Nucleation and annihilation of magnetic vortices in submicron-scale Co dots
A. Fernandez,C. J. Cerjan +1 more
TL;DR: In this article, the authors used magnetic force microscopy (MFM) to directly observe magnetic reversal in polycrystalline Co structures fabricated by interference lithography and found that reversal occurs predominantly through the nucleation and annihilation of a single magnetic vortex in each dot.
