TLDR
In this paper, the demagnetizing factors of ellipsoids of three different axes are presented, along with supplementary formulas which cover a large number of special cases of ellipses.Abstract:
Charts and tables of the demagnetizing factors of prolate and oblate spheroids are readily available; however, demagnetizing factors of ellipsoids of three different axes are incompletely tabulated and laborious to calculate. This article presents charts and tables which make possible easy determination of the demagnetizing factor for any principal axis of an ellipsoid of any shape. Formulas for the demagnetizing factors of the general ellipsoid are included together with supplementary formulas which cover a large number of special cases.read more

Rock texture and magnetic lineation in dykes: a simple analytical model
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors developed two simple models for simulating the combination of magnetic sub-fabrics related to magma flow in dykes, where the basic assumptions are (i) the petrofabric is representative of the flow fabric, and (ii) the S/C-type structures related to flow.

Measuring radio frequency properties of materials in pulsed magnetic fields with a tunnel diode oscillator
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors proposed a method to stabilize the tunnel diode oscillator during a magnet pulse by using compensated coils in the tank circuit and developed two methods, one digital and one analog, to measure the frequency and amplitude shifts in the oscillator.

TL;DR: In this article, a quasiperiodic Penrose tiling pattern of interacting nanomagnets was used to construct a low-energy configuration from a step-by-step approach.

Ferromagnetic resonance spectroscopy for assessment of magnetic anisotropy and magnetostatic interactions: A case study of mutant magnetotactic bacteria
Robert E. Kopp,C. Z. Nash,Atsuko Kobayashi,Benjamin P. Weiss,Dennis A. Bazylinski,Joseph L. Kirschvink +5 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the authors examined the effects of magnetotactic bacteria properties on the FMR spectra of three types of single-domain particles, namely, MV-1, AMB-1 and mnm13, showing that positive magnetic anisotropy indicated by the spectra is a product of chain alignment and particle elongation.

Static magnetic susceptibility, crystal field and exchange interactions in rare earth titanate pyrochlores.
TL;DR: Analytical expressions for the site and bulk susceptibilities of the pyrochlore lattice are derived taking into account long range dipole-dipole interactions and anisotropic exchange interactions between the nearest neighbor rare earth ions.
