In this paper, the demagnetizing factors of ellipsoids of three different axes are presented, along with supplementary formulas which cover a large number of special cases of ellipses.
Abstract
Charts and tables of the demagnetizing factors of prolate and oblate spheroids are readily available; however, demagnetizing factors of ellipsoids of three different axes are incompletely tabulated and laborious to calculate. This article presents charts and tables which make possible easy determination of the demagnetizing factor for any principal axis of an ellipsoid of any shape. Formulas for the demagnetizing factors of the general ellipsoid are included together with supplementary formulas which cover a large number of special cases.

Bulk properties of two‐phase disordered media. II. Effective conductivity of a dilute dispersion of penetrable spheres

TL;DR: In this paper, the effective electrical conductivity σ* of a dilute dispersion of equisized spheres of radius R distributed with arbitrary degree of penetrability is considered, and it is shown that σ*, through second order in the inclusion volume fraction φ2, can be written in terms of the zero density limits of the pair connectedness and pair blocking functions, and certain polarizability tensors which involve one and two inclusions.

Electromagnetic Induction From Highly Permeable and Conductive Ellipsoids Under Arbitrary Excitation: Application to the Detection of Unexploded Ordnances

TL;DR: Numerical results favorably compare with numerical and experimental data and proves the usefulness of the method to model UXOs in clutter-contaminated soils, and the optimization approach used to match the numerical predictions with experimental data demonstrates the possibility of remotely inferring the material properties of objects.

Control of the resonance frequency of soft ferromagnetic amorphous thin films by strip patterning

TL;DR: In this paper, a periodic pattern of metal strips of width w, parallel to the easy axis, separated by a gap of width e is etched in the amorphous layer of thickness h. By playing with the geometrical parameters w, e, h, it is possible to adjust the resonance frequency.

Micromagnetics of shape anisotropy based permanent magnets

TL;DR: In this article, the authors assess the limits of shape contributions to the reversal stability using micromagnetic simulations and conclude that magnetostatic interactions reduce the coercive field by up to 20% in materials with moderate uniaxial magnetocrystalline anisotropy.
