An Improved Two Independent-Samples Randomization Test for Single-Case AB-Type Intervention Designs: A 20-Year Journey
TL;DR: In contrast to the unsatisfactory simulation results produced by an earlier proposed randomization test, the present test consistently exhibited acceptable Type I error control under various design and effect type configurations, while at the same time possessing adequate power to detect moderately sized intervention-difference effects as mentioned in this paper.
Journal ArticleDOI
Long term beef production in extensive cow-calf systems in the tropical savannas of eastern Colombia
TL;DR: La produccion de ganancia de peso de vacas mas terneros destetos vario entre 86 and 206 kg/ha/ano, demostrando las consecuencias de largo plazo del amplio rango de estrategias de manejo experimentadas.
Journal ArticleDOI
Bias in leaf dry mass estimation after oven-drying isoprenoid-storing leaves
Miguel Portillo-Estrada,Miguel Portillo-Estrada,Lucian Copolovici,Uelo Niinemets,Uelo Niinemets +4 more
TL;DR: In this article, the results of the experiment suggested that the FF method performed the best leaf isoprenoid preservation followed by FF method, whilst air-drying methods performed a dramatic isoprinoid loss in the leaf samples, as well as preserving the leaves at freezing and cooling temperatures.
Journal ArticleDOI
Crested wheatgrass (Agropyron cristatum) seedings in Western Colorado: What can we learn?
TL;DR: It is suggested that in areas planted with crested wheatgrass, frequency of crested Wheatgrass can increase over time, and mechanical treatments coupled with seeding were not effective at reducing crestedWheatgrass cover, or at increasing native and desirable species.
Journal ArticleDOI
The intractable challenge of evaluating cattle vaccination as a control for bovine Tuberculosis.
TL;DR: It is calculated that estimation of the direct protection of BCG could be achieved with 100 herds, but over 500 herds would be necessary to demonstrate an economic benefit for farmers whose costs are dominated by testing and associated herd restrictions.

Statistical Power Analysis for the Behavioral Sciences
TL;DR: The concepts of power analysis are discussed in this paper, where Chi-square Tests for Goodness of Fit and Contingency Tables, t-Test for Means, and Sign Test are used.
Journal ArticleDOI
The moderator–mediator variable distinction in social psychological research: Conceptual, strategic, and statistical considerations.
Reuben M. Baron,David A. Kenny +1 more
TL;DR: This article seeks to make theorists and researchers aware of the importance of not using the terms moderator and mediator interchangeably by carefully elaborating the many ways in which moderators and mediators differ, and delineates the conceptual and strategic implications of making use of such distinctions with regard to a wide range of phenomena.

Using multivariate statistics
TL;DR: In this Section: 1. Multivariate Statistics: Why? and 2. A Guide to Statistical Techniques: Using the Book Research Questions and Associated Techniques.
Journal ArticleDOI
The CES-D Scale: A Self-Report Depression Scale for Research in the General Population
TL;DR: The CES-D scale as discussed by the authors is a short self-report scale designed to measure depressive symptomatology in the general population, which has been used in household interview surveys and in psychiatric settings.
