A new approach for modeling and analysis of the lubricated piston skirt-cylinder system with multi-physics coupling

TL;DR: In this article, the authors proposed a multiphysics approach for modeling and analysis of the lubricated piston skirt-liner interface with multi-physics coupling by coupling the heat transfer of the cylinder and piston, multibody dynamics of the crank-connecting rod-pistoncylinder system, the hydrodynamics lubrication of the skirt-cylinder interface, the thermal and elastic deformation of the piston-cylinders system, as well as the rheological properties of lubricating oil.

The Tribo-Dynamics Performance of the Lubricated Piston Skirt–Cylinder System Considering the Cylinder Liner Vibration

TL;DR: In this article , a multiphysics coupling method was proposed to model and analyze the lubricated piston skirt-cylinder interface considering the cylinder liner vibration, and the results indicated that increasing the stiffness and damping coefficient of the cylinder is beneficial to suppress the vibration of the system, but it has little effect on the tribological characteristics of the piston skirt.

Numerical modelling of ultrasonic waves in a bubbly Newtonian liquid using a high-order acoustic cavitation model.

TL;DR: A non-linear acoustic model is validated against reference water pressure measurements from acoustic waves produced by an immersed horn and predicts that the most intense cavitation activity is localised below the vibrating horn and estimates the acoustic decay below the sonotrode with reasonable qualitative agreement with experimental data.

Numerical simulation of ultrasonic waves in cavitating fluids with special consideration of ultrasonic cleaning

TL;DR: In this paper, a numerical model is presented to calculate the ultrasound propagation in a cavitating fluid, which is based on a two-phase continuum approach, and the correlation between simulated cavitation activity and the cleaning results is discussed.
