Antecedents of drinking for early- and late-onset elderly alcohol abusers.
TL;DR: Depression, loneliness and lack of social support were the most frequently reported antecedents to preadmission drinking behavior for both groups of elderly alcohol abusers, but early-onset subjects were more likely to have changed residence, were intoxicated more often and experienced more severe levels of depression and anxiety.

Clinical characteristics of psychiatrically referred adolescent outpatients with substance use disorder.
TL;DR: Despite the small number of adolescents with SUD in this sample, these data indicate that SUD is common in outpatient psychiatry referrals, and youths with Sud appear to be at increased risk for more psychopathology and dysfunction in a number of domains.
