TLDR
DNA repair and colony survival were measured in fibroblasts from a patient with Fanconi's anemia, HG 261, and from normal human donors after exposure of these cells to the cross-linking agent mitomycin C, X-rays or ultraviolet light.About:

Free radical formation by antitumor quinones
TL;DR: The evidence for a relationship between radical formation and the biological activity of the antitumor quinones is evaluated and it is suggested that cardiotoxicity and skin toxicity may also be related to oxygen radical formation.

Susceptibility of Fanconi's anemia lymphoblasts to DNA-cross-linking and alkylating agents.
Ryoji Ishida,Manuel Buchwald +1 more
TL;DR: It is demonstrated that FA lymphoblast lines are more sensitive than normal cell lines to all DNA-cross-linking agents examined and should therefore be useful for the analysis of DNA cross-link repair and the biochemical defect in FA.

Fractionation of DNA from mammalian cells by alkaline elution
TL;DR: The method of alkaline elution provides a sensitive measure of DNA single-strand length distribution in mamalian cells and is applicable to a variety of problems concerning DNA damage, repair, and replication.

Susceptibility of human diploid fibroblast strains to transformation by SV40 virus.
TL;DR: A quantitative system has been developed for the study of transformation of human diploid fibroblasts in culture by two oncogenic viruses, SV40 and the E46 strain of adeno 7-SV40 "hybrid" virus.

DNA Damage and Repair in Mouse Leukemia L1210 Cells Treated with Nitrogen Mustard, 1,3-Bis(2-chloroethyl)-1-nitrosourea, and Other Nitrosoureas
Regina A. G. Ewig,Kurt W. Kohn +1 more
TL;DR: The findings on the kinetics and structure dependence of cross-linking are similar to the previously reported findings on interstrand cross- linking of purified DNA and support a two-step reaction mechanism involving a chloroethylated intermediate.

Alkaline elution analysis, a new approach to the study of dna single- -strand interruptions in cells.
TL;DR: A procedure is described whereby shortened DNA single strands can be selectively eluted from filters upon which cells have been lysed, providing a sensitive measure of DNA single-strand breakage that may be applicable to the detection of cell damage resulting from certain types of chemotherapeutic agents.
