TLDR
A notation for dynamics of discrete systems is presented and static objects and relations between them which from time to time undergo sudden changes are described mathematically by relational structures and productions similar to productions of graph grammars.

A Tutorial and Bibliographical Survey on Graph Grammars

TL;DR: Most of the approaches for sequential and parallel graph grammars known in literature are given and some of the modifications and extensions enforced by several applications are introduced.

Some structural aspects of hypergraph languages generated by hyperedge replacement

TL;DR: The concept combines a context-free type of rewriting with a comparatively large generative power for generating hypergraph languages including graph languages and string languages.

A unified geometric approach to modeling and control of constrained mechanical systems

TL;DR: A unified and asymptotically stable hybrid position/force-control algorithm is proposed and it is shown that the equations can be projected to the distribution/codistribution associated with the constraints and the control law reduces to hybrid velocity/force control.

Computation on graph-like expressions

TL;DR: A theory of graph-like expressions is developed as far as the basic theoretical result which underlies the remainder of the study of efficient evaluations of expressions, which shows that for a wide class of expressions there are theoretical benefits in allowing graph- like expressions in evaluation algorithms.
Journal ArticleDOI

Transformations of structures: An algebraic approach

TL;DR: Unlike some previous efforts toward a rigorous theory of transformations of structures, this paper uses ideas and results from abstract algebra to minimize the need for elaborate constructions.

Formal Languages and Their Relation to Automata

TL;DR: The theory of formal languages as a coherent theory is presented and its relationship to automata theory is made explicit, including the Turing machine and certain advanced topics in language theory.

Graph-grammars: An algebraic approach

TL;DR: An algebraic theory of graph-grammars is presented using homomorphisms and pushout-constructions to specify embeddings and direct derivations constructively and allows simplification of the proofs and pregnant formulation of concepts like "parallel composition" and "translation of grammars".

Switching and automata theory.

A. Gill
TL;DR: The research under the grant consisted of extensive development of the theory of linear sequential circuits, and solution of various operations-research type problems, such as optimization algorithms for finite, directed, weighted graphs, and the 'change-making problem'.
