Electronic energy transfer between close packed quantum dots using cw and time resolved photoluminescence is demonstrated and is consistent with long-range resonance transfer of electronic excitations from the more electronically confined states of the small dots to the higher excitedStates of the large dots.Abstract:
We demonstrate electronic energy transfer between close packed quantum dots using cw and time resolved photoluminescence. Optically clear and thin, close packed quantum dot solids were prepared from mixtures of small and large CdSe quantum dots (38.5 and 62 \AA{}, $\ensuremath{\sigma}l4.5%$). Quenching of the luminescence (lifetime) of the small dots accompanied by enhancement of the luminescence (lifetime) of the large dots is consistent with long-range resonance transfer of electronic excitations from the more electronically confined states of the small dots to the higher excited states of the large dots.read more

Colloidal Quantum Dots Enabling Coherent Light Sources for Integrated Silicon-Nitride Photonics
Weiqiang Xie,Yunpeng Zhu,Suzanne Bisschop,Tangi Aubert,Zeger Hens,Dries Van Thourhout,Pieter Geiregat +6 more
TL;DR: In this article, a detailed design flow for the hybridization of silicon nitride-based integrated photonic circuits with so-called colloidal quantum dots (QDs) is presented, which can absorb, emit, and amplify light in a wide spectral region.

Meyer-Neldel-like manifestation of the quantum confinement effect in solid ensembles of semiconductor quantum dots
TL;DR: In this article, the authors report clear crystallite size dependencies of the transport and phototransport properties in solid-state ensembles of semiconductor quantum dots and show that the above dependencies are associated with the quantum confined induced variation of the band gap in the individual dots.

Preparation and multicolored fluorescent properties of CdTe quantum dots/polymethylmethacrylate composite films
TL;DR: In this article, a new simple route was presented for the preparation of stable fluorescent CdTe/polymethylmethacrylate (CdTe-PMMA) composite films by using hydrophilic thioglycolic acid capped cdTe quantum dots (TGA-cdTe QDs) and polymethylmETH as raw materials, which were firstly exchanged with n-dodecanethiol (DDT) to become hydrophobic DDT-CdTE QDs via a ligand exchange strategy, and then incorporated into

Dimensionality Effects on Fluorescence Resonance Energy Transfer between Single Semiconductor Nanocrystals and Multiple Dye Acceptors
TL;DR: In this paper, the dimensionality effect in energy transfer between single heterostructure nanocrystals of spherical and rod shape, serving as donors, and multiple dye molecules attached to their surface acting as acceptors is examined.
