Electronic Raman scattering in YBa2Cu4O8

TLDR
In this article, the electronic Raman scattering in YBa2Cu4O8 was investigated and it was shown that the normal state is strongly temperature-pendent in all polarizations.
Abstract
We report on the electronic Raman scattering in YBa2Cu4O8 and find that, In contrast to the other superconducting cuprates, the continuum in the normal state is strongly temperature ⪤pendent in all polarizations. This temperature dependence is found to follow a Bose-Einstein-like form. We conclude that the absence of the Bose-Einstein factor in the electronic continuum is not essential to high-Tc superconductivity, as is sometimes implied. Additionally, we report on the rearrangement of the continuum which occurs belowTc.

Electronic Raman scattering in high-temperature superconductors

TL;DR: In this article, the effects of temperature, impurity scattering, and resonance conditions on electronic Raman spectra in the superconducting state are analyzed, and the primary objective of the review is to establish how different peculiarities of the inelastic light scattering spectra are related to fundamental properties of the fundamental supercondensing state.

Electronic Raman scattering in YBa2Cu4O8 at high pressure

TL;DR: In this article, the electronic Raman scattering in YBa2Cu4O8 at hydrostatic pressures up to 9 GPa was investigated and it was shown that the electronic continuum of the normal state becomes very weakly temperature dependent in all three configurations.

The superconducting and normal state gaps in YBa2Cu4O8: an electronic Raman scattering study

Electronic Raman scattering on YBa2Cu4O8 (Y124)

TL;DR: In this article, the normal state electronic Raman scattering spectrum exhibits a broad maximum, whereas below T c the structure is resolved by subtracting the phononic fraction, which is in good agreement with the additional lines observed in the reflection spectra below Tc.

Phenomenology of the normal state of Cu-O high-temperature superconductors.

TL;DR: The universal anomalies in the normal state of Cu-O high-temperature superconductors follow from a single hypothesis: There exist charge- and spin-density excitations with the absorptive part of the polarizability at low frequencies proportional to T, where T is the temperature, and constant otherwise.
