Carotenoids and photoprotection in plants : a role for the xanthophyll zeaxanthin
TL;DR: Synthese des mecanismes de photoprotection chez les vegetaux, en reponse a un eclairement energetique; implication des carotenoides, en particulier la zeaxanthine, a la dissipation d'energie, en relation avec le cycle des xanthophylles.
Journal ArticleDOI
Adaptation of unicellular algae to irradiance: an analysis of strategies
TL;DR: Comparison of the photon flux densities at which photoinhibition occurs in dinoflagellates and diatoms suggests that the former often experiencephotoinhibition at comparatively low irradiances, and this tolerance of a large absolute range of photon fluxdensities may, in part, explain why di atoms are often associated with spring blooms.
Journal ArticleDOI
Influence of Surface Charges on Thylakoid Structure and Function
TL;DR: This paper presents a meta-analysis of 9-Amino Acridine technique and its applications in particle electrophoresis and concludes that the technique can be applied to surface charge determination as well as other determinants of surface attraction.

Chemiosmotic coupling in oxidative and photosynthetic phosphorylation
TL;DR: The end result of the coupling between the flows through the o/r and h/d pathways in oxidative phosphorylation in mitochondria is that, for the equivalent of each pair of electrons traversing the respiratory chain, up to 3 anhydro-bond equivalents may normally traverse the h/D pathway from adenosine diphosphate plus inorganic phosphate (ADP +Pi) to water.
Journal ArticleDOI
Safranine as a probe of the mitochondrial membrane potential
TL;DR: The membrane potential has been suggested to be the major component of the electrochemical proton gradient under most conditions, and measurements of this potential are therefore essential for the understanding of the mechanism of oxidative phosphorylation and mitochondrial ion transport.
