Superradiant emission from electron-beam-excited POPOP vapor

TL;DR: In this paper, the first superradiant emission from an electron-beam-excited dye vapor has been observed, and the wavelength integrated net gain of an optimized POPOP dye vapor-buffer gas mixture was found to be 0.17 cm−1 at 1 Torr and 4 atm argon pressures for an absorbed power input of 40 MW into an active volume of 10 cm3.

Versatile high-temperature high-pressure vapor cell design for electron beam excited laser studies.

TL;DR: Details of both the high-temperature laser performance of Ar-N(2) and the gain characteristics of the dye POPOP [2,2' phenylenebis(5-phenyloxazole)] are presented as an example of the use of a cell suitable for studying electron beam excited laser candidates at high temperatures.

Recent progress in the development of electrically and optically pumped dye vapor lasers

TL;DR: In this article, a dye vapor exhibits optical gain nearly as high as in the solution case under excitation by a N 2 laser under both optically excited POPOP vapor and electron-beam excited vapor.

Intense laser emission from electron‐beam‐pumped ternary mixtures of Ar, N2, and POPOP vapor

TL;DR: In this paper, the electron-beam-pumped ternary mixtures of argon-nitrogen and 2,2′ p−phenylinebis(5−phenyloxazole) (POPOP) dye vapor was used as a pumping mechanism.
