Evidence for and implications of self-healing pulses of slip in earthquake rupture
TLDR
In this article, a qualitative model is presented that produces self-healing slip pulses, which is the key feature of the model is the assumption that friction on the fault surface is inversely related to the local slip velocity, and the model has the following features: high static strength of materials (kilobar range), low static stress drops (in the range of tens of bars).About:

Single-Couple Component of Far-Field Radiation from Dynamical Fractures

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors reexamine two canons of the seismological literature, that elastic displacements in the far field are proportional to slip velocities on the dynamical fault surface, and that dynamical in-plane slip on an earthquake fault has a double-couple body force equivalent.

Steadily propagating slip pulses driven by thermal decomposition
TL;DR: In this article, the authors studied the role of thermal decomposition during dynamic rupture, and showed that thermal decompposition leads to longer slip durations, larger total slips, and a distinctive along-fault slip rate profile.

4.07 – Slip Inversion
TL;DR: Slip inversion is a widely used analysis method using seismic and/or geodetic data, which determines the spatial and temporal distribution of fault slip, namely a slip model.

A novel method of reducing the acoustic emission wave reflected by boundary based on acoustic black hole.
TL;DR: Results show that the acoustic black hole (ABH) is a candidate tool to reduce the reflected AE wave on the boundary and obtain the high Signal‐Noise Ratio (SNR) direct AE wave.

Tectonic stress and the spectra of seismic shear waves from earthquakes
TL;DR: In this paper, an earthquake model is derived by considering the effective stress available to accelerate the sides of the fault, and the model describes near and far-field displacement-time functions and spectra and includes the effect of fractional stress drop.

Modeling of rock friction: 1. Experimental results and constitutive equations
TL;DR: In this paper, it is shown that the strength of the population of points of contacts between sliding surfaces determines frictional strength and that the number of contacts changes continuously with displacements.
