Factor analysis of trends in Texas acidic deposition

TLDR
In this article, a trend analysis was performed on the logarithm of the monthly averages at the Longview and Victoria sites, the two sites with the largest and most complete data collected between 1980 and 1987 for 11 NADP/NTN sites in Texas.

Source identification of bulk wet deposition in Finland by positive matrix factorization

TL;DR: In this paper, a positive matrix factorization (PMF) was applied to a Finnish data set (18 years, 15 locations) of monthly bulk wet deposition concentrations of strong acids, SO4, NO3, NH4, total nitrogen (Ntot), total phosphorus (Ptot) and total organic carbon (TOC).

Chemical composition of rainwater in Eastern France

TL;DR: In this paper, the major elements are SO 4 2− and Cl − for the anions and NH 4 + and Ca 2+ for the cations, and the major ion concentrations are higher in urban areas, especially at Colmar (no.2), where rainfall amounts are low.

Analysis of daily precipitation data by positive matrix factorization

TL;DR: The aim of the analysis was to investigate the structure of the data matrices in order to find the apparent source profiles from which the precipitation samples are constituted, and the strongest factor found was that of sea-salt.

Changes in sulfate deposition in eastern USA following implementation of Phase I of Title IV of the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990

TL;DR: In this article, the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990 (CAAA) was implemented on 1 January 1995, and the phase I restrictions were imposed on sulfur dioxide emissions from 110 coal-fired electric utility plants (263 units) in 21 states of which 17 are east of the Mississippi River.
Journal ArticleDOI

Characterization of precipitation at Agra

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors studied the precipitation at Agra city during July-September 1991 and found that only 10 percentile of the values in the rainwater samples correspond to local soil and the rest could be attributed to transported soil.

Acid precipitation: natural versus anthropogenic components.

TL;DR: An analysis of precipitation data indicates that many areas of eastern North America receive precipitation with substantially greater H+, SO42-, and NO3- concentrations than remote areas.
