Fault Tree and Fuzzy D-S Evidential Reasoning combined approach: An application in railway dangerous goods transportation system accident analysis

TLDR
The results show that professional skills and attitudes of transportation staffs are the weakest component in this lithium battery railway transportation accident and D-S Evidential Reasoning could provide a unified modeling framework for uncertain, incomplete, inaccurate and even ignorant information.

Historical data-driven risk assessment of railway dangerous goods transportation system: Comparisons between Entropy Weight Method and Scatter Degree Method

TL;DR: The results of case study by using China data show that the SDM is more stable than EWM; sub-risk indicators with highest ranks belong to risk factors of Human category, which means the Human unsafe actions and behaviors are the most dangerous factors that influence the normal and safe operations of RDGTS.
Journal ArticleDOI

Railway dangerous goods transportation system risk analysis: An Interpretive Structural Modeling and Bayesian Network combining approach

TL;DR: The final analysis results show that the sub-indicator, staffs are lack of technical and knowledge during transportation processes, has the highest impact to the RDGTS with probability 0.74, and the sudden natural disaster has the weakest impact.
Journal ArticleDOI

Benchmarking on railway safety performance using Bayesian inference, decision tree and petri-net techniques based on long-term accidental data sets

TL;DR: This is the world's first to establish new insights from the benchmarking of risk and safety across different rail networks, and demonstrates that the novel benchmarking criteria can effectively measure and compare any rail networks’ risk and uncertainties.
Journal ArticleDOI

Operational failure analysis of high-speed electric multiple units: A Bayesian network-K2 algorithm-expectation maximization approach

TL;DR: A Bayesian Network-K2 Algorithm-Expectation Maximization approach is proposed to quantify the intensity of coupling influence among the operational failures and find out the specific failure propagation chains in accidents of high-speed electric multiple units, quantitatively.

A mathematical theory of evidence

Glenn Shafer
TL;DR: This book develops an alternative to the additive set functions and the rule of conditioning of the Bayesian theory: set functions that need only be what Choquet called "monotone of order of infinity." and Dempster's rule for combining such set functions.
Book ChapterDOI

Upper and Lower Probabilities Induced by a Multivalued Mapping

TL;DR: A distinctive feature of the present approach is a rule for conditioning, or more generally, arule for combining sources of information, as discussed in Sects.

Upper and Lower Probabilities Induced by a Multivalued Mapping.

TL;DR: In this paper, a multivalued mapping from a space X to a space S carries a probability measure defined over subsets of X into a system of upper and lower probabilities over S. Some basic properties of such systems are explored in Sects. 1 and 2.

Failure mode and effects analysis using a group-based evidential reasoning approach

TL;DR: This paper presents an FMEA using the evidential reasoning (ER) approach, a newly developed methodology for multiple attribute decision analysis and is illustrated with an application to a fishing vessel.

Picture fuzzy normalized projection-based VIKOR method for the risk evaluation of construction project

TL;DR: In this study, a multi-criteria decision-making framework is constructed for risk evaluation of construction project with picture fuzzy information and an integrated picture fuzzy normalized projection-based VIKOR method is constructed by integrate the PFNP model and VIKor method under picture fuzzy environment.
