TLDR
In this paper, the dephasing times of polydiacetylene (poly-3BCMU) were resolved at two wavelengths by degenerate four-wave mixing using incoherent light.Abstract:
Dephasing times in a polydiacetylene (poly-3BCMU) film were resolved for the first time at two wavelengths by degenerate four-wave mixing using incoherent light. The dephasing times, 30 fs at 648 nm and 130 fs at 582 nm, correspond to excitons in chains of the polymer with different conjugation lengths.read more

Tatsuo Kanetake,Ken Ishikawa,Tatsuo Hasegawa,Takao Koda,Kenji Takeda,M. Hasegawa,K. Kubodera,H. Kobayashi +7 more
TL;DR: In this paper, the third-order harmonic generation was measured on highly oriented polydiacetylene (PDA) films prepared by the vacuum deposition method, and the potential usefulness of these highly oriented PDA evaporated films in nonlinear optical applications was suggested.

Chromatic studies of a polymerizable diacetylene hydrogen bonding self-assembly : A self-folding process to explain the chromatic changes of polydiacetylenes
TL;DR: In this article, a diacetylene compound (PDATAZ) was designed and synthesized, which readily formed a complementary hydrogen bonding self-assembly at the air−water interface or in the solid state with barbituric acid (BA) or cyanuric acids (CA), and revealed some important insights on the chromatic properties of polydiacetylenes.

All-optical bistabilities of polydiacetylene langmuir-blodgett film waveguides
TL;DR: In this paper, two types of all-optical bistability were observed in polydiacetylene Langmuir-Blodgett (PDALB) films layered on rf-sputtered Corning 7059 slab-type waveguides with fused-quartz substrates.

Observation of the triplet excited state of a conjugated-polymer crystal.
TL;DR: By studying a single crystal of polydiacetylene-toluene-sulfonate, the first identification of the triplet excited state of a conjugated polymer is made using the magnetic field dependence of the excited-state lifetime, measured by time-resolved optical absorption.

Third‐order nonlinear optical interaction and conformational transition in poly‐4‐BCMU polydiacetylene studied by picosecond and subpicosecond degenerate four wave mixing
TL;DR: In this paper, the electronic third-order nonlinear optical interaction in a solution cast film of a polydiacetylene has been studied by degenerate four wave mixing and the results demonstrate a subpicosecond response and a very high χ(3) value.
