TLDR
In this article, the authors proposed a new strategy for the control of water distribution in an irrigation main canal pool characterized by large time-varying time delays using fractional order PI controllers combined with Smith predictors that yield control systems which are robust to changes in the process time delay.

Water quality assessment in shrimp culture using an analytical hierarchical process

TL;DR: In this article, the authors developed a new Water Quality Index focused on monitoring of shrimp farms; detecting poor water quality and preventing negative effects in the ecosystem, which assigns a priority level to each water parameter through a new analytical hierarchical process (AHP), which allows an accurate assessment of the water quality.

Fractional Order Controller Design for A Flexible Link Manipulator Robot

TL;DR: In this paper, a hybrid system that combines the advantages in terms of robustness of the fractional control and the sliding mode control is proposed, which can achieve better control performance than the integer order sliding mode controller.

Improved model reduction and tuning of fractional-order PIλDμ controllers for analytical rule extraction with genetic programming

TL;DR: Simulation studies show that the new Nyquist-based model reduction technique outperforms the conventional H(2)-norm-based reduced parameter modeling technique and Parametric robustness of the reported GP-based tuning rules has also been shown with credible simulation examples.
