Abstract
This paper presents the design and implementation of the first in-band full duplex WiFi radios that can simultaneously transmit and receive on the same channel using standard WiFi 802.11ac PHYs and achieves close to the theoretical doubling of throughput in all practical deployment scenarios. Our design uses a single antenna for simultaneous TX/RX (i.e., the same resources as a standard half duplex system). We also propose novel analog and digital cancellation techniques that cancel the self interference to the receiver noise floor, and therefore ensure that there is no degradation to the received signal. We prototype our design by building our own analog circuit boards and integrating them with a fully WiFi-PHY compatible software radio implementation. We show experimentally that our design works robustly in noisy indoor environments, and provides close to the expected theoretical doubling of throughput in practice.

Frequency Independent Framework for Synthesis of Programmable Non-reciprocal Networks

TL;DR: In this paper, the authors demonstrate a framework for synthesizing theoretically frequency-independent multi-port non-reciprocal networks, which can have an arbitrary number of ports while simultaneously sustaining balanced performance and providing unprecedented programmability.

Linear Digital Cancellation with Reduced Computational Complexity for Full-Duplex Radios

TL;DR: It is demonstrated that the SI suppression achieved with the proposed approach is not only comparable to existing approach, but with frequency domain SI channel estimates, it can offer 5-7 dB better cancellation under highly frequency selective fading conditions, suggesting its suitability for long range transmission.

A numerical investigation of all-analog radio self-interference cancellation

TL;DR: It is shown that a recently used uniform architecture with uniformly distributed RF attenuator has a performance highly dependent on the carrier frequency and that a new architecture with the attenuators distributed in a clustered fashion has important advantages over the uniform architecture.

Compact In-Band Full Duplexing Antenna for Sub-6 GHz 5G Applications

TL;DR: In this paper, a shared aperture cavity-like structure with two highly orthogonal modes (quarter-wavelength slot mode and half-mode cavity mode) is proposed to achieve high isolation between Tx and Rx ports.

Self-mixed self-interference analog cancellation in full-duplex communications

TL;DR: This approach is called self-mixed selfinterference analog cancellation (SM-SIAC), which can merge the analog cancellation circuit and the receiver and derives a closed-form expression for the quadrature amplitude modulation self-interference signal and the GMSK self- interference signal.

Convex Optimization

TL;DR: In this article, the focus is on recognizing convex optimization problems and then finding the most appropriate technique for solving them, and a comprehensive introduction to the subject is given. But the focus of this book is not on the optimization problem itself, but on the problem of finding the appropriate technique to solve it.
