The design and implementation of the first in-band full duplex WiFi radios that can simultaneously transmit and receive on the same channel using standard WiFi 802.11ac PHYs are presented and achieves close to the theoretical doubling of throughput in all practical deployment scenarios.Abstract:
This paper presents the design and implementation of the first in-band full duplex WiFi radios that can simultaneously transmit and receive on the same channel using standard WiFi 802.11ac PHYs and achieves close to the theoretical doubling of throughput in all practical deployment scenarios. Our design uses a single antenna for simultaneous TX/RX (i.e., the same resources as a standard half duplex system). We also propose novel analog and digital cancellation techniques that cancel the self interference to the receiver noise floor, and therefore ensure that there is no degradation to the received signal. We prototype our design by building our own analog circuit boards and integrating them with a fully WiFi-PHY compatible software radio implementation. We show experimentally that our design works robustly in noisy indoor environments, and provides close to the expected theoretical doubling of throughput in practice.read more

Degrees of Freedom of Full-Duplex Multiantenna Cellular Networks
TL;DR: By comparing the DoFs of the FD systems with those of the conventional HD systems, it is shown that the DoF can approach the two-fold gain over theHD systems, when the number of users becomes large enough compared with thenumber of antennas at the BS.

TL;DR: The capacity improvement of full-duplex (FD) device-to-device (D2D) underlaying cellular networks (CNs) is analyzed, and the numerical results show that thecapacity improvement of the FD D2D communications is much greater than the traditional HD D 2D communication if the sufficient SIC is achieved.

Sum secrecy rate maximization for full-duplex two-way relay networks
TL;DR: It is proved that the SDR is tight and given a specific way to recover a stationary solution of the SSRM problem from the relaxed DC problem, and an inexact DC framework is proposed, which uses an approximate solution to iterate, rather than a globally optimal one.

Self-Interference Cancellation and Channel Estimation in Multicarrier-Division Duplex Systems With Hybrid Beamforming
TL;DR: An adaptive beamforming assisted SI cancellation scheme with taking into account the practical requirement of analog-to-digital conversion (ADC) is proposed and it can be shown that the proposed approach is capable of jointly coping with the desired signals’ transmission and SI suppression.

TL;DR: In this article, the focus is on recognizing convex optimization problems and then finding the most appropriate technique for solving them, and a comprehensive introduction to the subject is given. But the focus of this book is not on the optimization problem itself, but on the problem of finding the appropriate technique to solve it.
